Since your character data is not stored locally in DDO, you don't own it -- you have a privilege to access it, and upon ending an optional subscription you retain access privileges to that content.

People really need to realize that wow stole from turbine and not the other way around. Most of the ideas that made wow a success from UI to full questing were first introduced in AC2. AC2 failed however to be stable and WoW was very polished and stable so it deserves its success. But saying Turbine ripped off wow is just bull. Turbine was the original innovator.
