As March winds down to a close, the WAR continues -- and Mythic producer Carrie Gouskos steps up to rally the troops behind a few juicy, if tantalizingly vague, quality of life improvements coming in the 1.3.5 patch. Take my hand, Dorothy, for it's dyes, scenarios, Marauders and minimaps, oh my!
Following Warhammer Online's patch 1.3.4, the team has kept a close eye on the PvP scenarios, and while they are happy overall, the plague of player /AFK's have taken their toll. Carrie promises that they are "actively investigating a solution for this problem." She also highlighted the improved communication efforts of the team, as seen on the official Dev Discussions forum.
Small but attractive improvements are in store for WAR's 1.3.5 patch, including a sharper look for armor dyes, "gutters" for the minimap to show off-map objective directions, and dual wielding for the mutated Marauder class.
These are, of course, not the extent of 1.3.5's additions and changes to the game, which Carrie is quick to point out: "Obviously this doesn't include any information about the massive city changes; those are too extensive to detail here." She closes by urging guilds to stay tuned to the forums for possible selection to testing their 100% RvR Driven City experience.
For those interested in trying out WAR, the path has never been smoother: not only is there an unlimited trial up to level 10, but Mythic recently removed the cost of the game's purchase.

it's amazing how the fail even at producer's letters
same poor patch, except for city siege changes that we know nothing about
and they still don't look at mayor problems like npc and pet ai,underpowered classes etc

I am with you Aizen. This note reeks of desperation. If your game is good, people will pay for it and subscribe. I played for about a year and it just got stale. I want new classes, races and better balancing.

A bit shallow for a Producer's Letter, indeed, but it's not a patch note either.

If players are going AFK during PvP scenarios just to collect the points that their teammates are collecting why don't they send the players to "limbo" as soon as they are inactive? If they are legitimately AFK then when they come back they can resume earning the points.
It's been since launch since i played the game but that was just a quick solution off the top of my head. I had fun with the RvR but the rest of the game got stale for me just like others have said.

This is why I unsubbed. TOo much time on the wrong focus. Everyone was up in arms about balance, content, rvr issues, city siege being boring. And what do we get? Live event rubbish, bloom and HDR, New player tutorial and now.. DYE CHANGES.... Way to prioritize Mythic.
2 balance changes for bw and sorc, and a small spell change for 2 healer classes that have been underpowered since the game began. got rid of forts before xmas and still no word on whats gooing on. Mythic has 2 speeds, slow and stop. I wont be back.

How is the Lead Character Artist, Nate LaMartina, going to work on the stuff you're crying about? He's not, he's going to work on dyes. So let the man come out with some nice changes and stop the tears already.

Probably one of the worst producer's letter every made - in any game. Made on the last day of the month... telling absolutly nothing ... and that includes even the news about the free client and where that is going to take the game. Maybe this new producer doesn't even know about it ?

I don't like to bash a game but honestly people should stop paying Mythic for that crap. They keep doing the same mistakes again and again and at this point I think they will never learn.

Honestly, you can vote with your wallet. I mean with your *own* wallet. Everyone else can decide on *his/her* own if the game is good enough for him/her to subscribe or not.
So, if you don't like bashing, then simply don't bash.

That dye issue really annoyed me. It should have been fixed back in beta.

"Honestly, you can vote with your wallet. I mean with your *own* wallet".
I have, and so have a few hundred thousand people.Since beta they've been focusing on the wrong things and that's why one and a half year later they've dropped from approximately 850,000 subs to a few thousand.I guess the "we know what we are doing" mantra didn't work so well after all.

I can agree, of course, that many more "voted" as well. Which doesn't mean that it gives you (or anyone) a right to suggest "people should stop paying Mythic for that crap". Such mantras like "millions cannot be wrong", or "numbers speak for themselves" and so on are nothing more than a way of rhetoric to support one's *own* (personal) opinion with making it looks like more well-based despite that is still based on an opinion of his own.
What "everyone" thinks to be true, is still not necessarily true. Or even can be completely "wrong".
*My opinion* is that the game is way better now than many think. You can argue it, but you cannot suggest that I should stop thinking that.

I played closed beta and for about 8 months after release, I have recently resubbed with WAR. T4 is still incomplete but being reworked, the game a still has the best pvp action in an mmo. On Badlands server it tends to be nonstop in the orvr lakes from t1 to t4.
The game was/is flawed but not nearly to the degree that some detractors seem to indicate. My biggest beef with the game is that it wasn't DAoC 2. But, I play it and have fun with others that feel the same way. The game still has around 200k subs, and is making money according to Bioware and further expansions are planned.

This game is the best pvp mmo game there is right now even with its numerous flaws. There are lots of things to complain about, but I have noticed the game has gotten much better over time, so keep up the effort mythic!
ps....quite frankly I think the "sharper looks for armor dyes" is pretty cool.
There need to be better (updated) rewards for RVR!

Old Stevo here is one of the six counter strike kiddies that Mythic has been listening to since the company was gutted, it is also why they are down to four servers and will be down to two by Christmas.
Yeah keep pandering to that core pvp gamer Carrie.

Bioware has said previously that Warhammer makes them more money than any of their other games. So...as the penny arcade guys said, I wonder what it's like to run a game that makes millions of dollars a year and is still considered a "failure".
WAR ftw.
WAR ftw.

The sad thing is I really liked this game quite a bit. It's actually pretty fun in the beginning. However as you move on in the game there is less and less to do. I found myself in T4 bored out of my skull. This game has allot of potential but the team needs to focus on what matters. Cosmetics and minor tweaks here and there aren't going to cut it. Focus needs to be put in the end game, everyone strives to reach it but when they get there... there isn't much to do and when you do find something worth doing the odds of running into a few bugs are quite high. I canceled my subscription about a month or so ago because I refuse to pay for something that doesn't entertain me. I, like many others would switch back if they addressed the problems but until that happens I'm happy exploring the world of warcraft (I know I such a traitor T-T)
