I'm interested in LFGX since I live in the midwest, but after talking with a few in my guild were a little leery because its the first year and there isn't much info about it yet. What companies are attending, what events are there, etc.

I'm really happy to see a MMO convention, but MMO company attendance is usually poor at other conventions Ive gone to though its not really noticed as much because those conventions cater to many types of gaming. What is going to make large amounts of MMO companies attend this one, especially the big names that usually are also the biggest no shows at most conventions?

I hope this works out great, but the lack of comments on many sites about LFGX makes me believe a lot of people are sitting around waiting to see what this convention is really going to have.

While this isn't a bad idea in theory... I can't see any MMO companies making a serious commitment to it. Most of them snubbed PAX East and it had 60k people show up.

What's the draw of 5 or even 25k MMO players that these companies already have?

Also, as a "Founding Partner" and "Sponsor" of this event you should probably disclose that when posting these types of articles. Its just good journalistic form.

We're not a sponsor, we've simply exchanged banners and have been provided with 100 tickets to give away to readers, as we've disclosed in the post.

Shaun, you may want to ask lfg about that then. They are portraying you as both and you are right there with gold farmers and rmt sites, which is more than enough reason for a lot of mmoers to stay away from this 'expo'

I know someone supposedly still involved with some of the behind the scenes things of this expo and their involvement makes me care not one bit about this convention and honestly I hope it fails. I'd be weary about the convention because of their involvement alone and how the convention literally almost came out of nowhere. This convention hasn't been in the planning stages for very long and can't see it being a quality offering at all.

I think most people will be saving their money for conventions that are tried and tested. Somewhat neat idea, but not going to succeed at all.

Since I live in the midwest, I'm really hoping that this convention does well. Every other gaming convention I've been to is either out West or out East and it would be really nice to have something closer to home.
