Players can choose between three classes: the steam-shooting Aeronauts, the blade-wielding Ferric or the whip-lashing Crags. Character creation is simple and painless, with a decent if not overwhelming selection of visual options. After that point, players enter this unique world full of Victorian gadgets and fashion to fight an alien threat that has taken over the world.
Remnants of Skystone may come in a small package, but offers several of the same features as its MMO brethren. The game utilizes shared instance space for players to meet and group up for missions, which then take place in a 2D action-platform environment. In their downtime between battling baddies, characters can work on their floating house, build up collections and further customize their outfits.
The combination of Steampunk trappings and a pretty cool setup -- survivors who live in the sky while attempting to retake the ground below -- gives Remnants of Skystone a one-up on many of the other browser MMOs out there.
