EVE Online developer Diagorus has just announced changes to CCP's Council of Stellar Management program via a dev blog on the official EVE web site. The Council, initially formed in early 2008 as a way to solicit player feedback and encourage community participation, features nine player-elected representatives and five alternates, the former of which travel to CCP headquarters in Reykjavik, Iceland for Council meetings.
The program changes deal mostly with term limits and obligations, including a lengthening of total CSM term time from six to twelve months, as well as the removal of term limits. Diagorus also lists a few time-related adjustments for the fifth iteration of the Council, applications for which open up on March 26.
Check out the full dev blog as well as the lengthy white paper detailing the roles and responsibilities of the Council of Stellar Management.

It will be interesting to see how aligning the CSM terms with the two expansion cycles per year will work out.
We've made progress with CSM4 and I hope to be re-elected to CSM5 to continue this progress :)

Wewt Teadaze o/
I definitely support the change in term length as it'll give players a chance to get some perspective on how each CSM works given more time. Hopefully we don't see any shenanigans take place. ^^

CSM is a joke, always has been, always will be. Doubling the length of it doesn't change anything when the position itself is not taken any more seriously than a free trip to Iceland and a polishing of one's e-penis.
They should really cancel the entire thing.
