Make a game based pretty much solely on Kinah and make a game with a bad economy. Check.
Make the game as grindy as ****, to the point that it is almost impossible for a person with a life to get to max without giving up in the early levels. Check.

Blame players for the core faults of your own stupid game. Check.

LESSON: Create a game that gives the gold sellers and levelers the maximum potential to live and flourish, and well.... BLAME THE PLAYERS EVERYONE FOR YOUR CRAP POS GAME.

Yes, that part with blaming the players for the failure of their game I found insulting. Yes, the game failed in the west if you consider the number of players still active. Look at all the player count threads: in the double XP weekend, in NA/EU we had hardly 1000 players on the busiest servers (8 out of 28) and around 500 on the other 20. The people who showed up in prime time on that weekend was under 30.000 on the entire 28 NA/EU servers. That is fail considering NCSoft was bragging with 950.000 sold boxes.

I think that video just did far more damage to the game then buying gold ever will.

If people feel the need to buy their way past certain aspects of your game, then you've made a crappy game.

Show me a non crappy game then because people buy gold in every game listed at massively.

I guess all MMO's just suck if you want to be better than the other guys RIGHT NOW!

Do they really want people not to come back and not to buy any of their games? Why insult your player base for your poor job of controlling gold farmers. They disgust me.

All you people feeling insulted by this must have all bought gold and been banned otherwise i don't see the insult.

And yes I am part of their playerbase.

A number of readers view this production in a different light than you and as a result, those that do are not only wrong, but criminally suspect as well?

Interesting assumption to make, faulty as it may be.

What if you couldn't trade anything? The whole game is built around the concept of earning your own levels and gear and such. Maybe make a few gift items you can trade, and let players share loot when they run a dungeon together, but get rid of all the rest of the trading. I doubt most players would even miss it.

There wouldn't be anything for kinah buyers to actually buy. Problem solved.

"So now it's the players fault for buying the Kinah, rather than NCSoft for detecting and removing bots who generate the currency."

It has ALWAYS been the player's fault. NCSoft and others are only trying to protect players who DON'T participate in activity that violates every TOS out there from the players who do.

If players didn't buy it, there would be no profit in selling it.

If there were no profit in selling it then there wouldn't be people farming it to sell.

IT IS, ALWAYS HAS BEEN, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE, ABSOLUTELY AND UNEQUIVICALLY, THE PLAYER'S FAULT!

Get it yet???

Sometimes I wonder why the streets aren't littered with the corpses of those who were too stupid to breathe on their own...
