Having now secured a publishing and distribution partner for their game, the team at Reakktor Media are working hard, polishing Black Prophecy up to a mirror shine. From what we've seen recently in our hands-on at GDC 2010, things are in excellent shape for the upcoming closed beta.
With that said, the Black Prophecy team has released a shiny new video offering a look at the evolution of a couple of different types of ships, some exciting space battles, and even some interior areas -- including what appears to be a fairly wicked chase in a tunnel. If you've been waiting for more, then be sure to check out the trailer after the break, and get signed up for the beta if you haven't already.

I'm feeling a really strong Babylon 5 influence on their art style. Which is absolutely not a bad thing. I'm keen to check this one out, no doubt about it.

Any further news on that 'special moves' crap? That'll be the big one for me. If they include that crap then I'll pass on this and wait for JGE and Taikodomo instead to get my Wing Commander fix.
Speaking of which...a Wing Commander/Privateer MMO would just be a money printing machine....which bamboozles me as to why EA haven't done it yet?!? It makes no sense at all.

Ooh, great point, Dread.
I'd love to play in a WC/Privateer universe.
Although I'm guessing that due to EA shutting down Origin (those bastards!) they're not interested in the franchise. Given that Chris Roberts moved on and made Freelancer in a totally different universe, the original IP is probably just being sat on and locked out to all by EA.

This looks beautiful. I'm going to give this a shot for sure. The only thing I don't like is the special moves. That should be left up to player skill. I've never played a F2P MMO, so I have no prejudice against it and I don't care what anyone here says about it (sorry but you guys crap on everything). Besides, its free to try. If you don't like it, all you lost was a bit of time.

I saw handrails and stairs in that video. Does that mean there will be avatars beyond the EvE "I'm a ship" type situation? Perhaps its a surprise?

If anyone remembers Freelancer, this game reminds me much of it. It seems like it has some improvements that Freelancer didn't have and could have used, but still that same mindset. I am definitely considering branching into this game when it comes out

Does this game have some sort of in game Economy? Like can you be a miner or a trader? If so, it may be the closest MMO yet to a game like Freelancer. Even after all these years I still have more fun with Freelancer MP then I ever did with EVE Online.

Woah did these guys use Bab5 as inspiration or what? That new enemy looks quite a bit like the "Shadows". Still not sold on this game, but will keep an eye on it.
