Craig Z has recently been whoring himself around all the reputable ( that's subjective, don't go there ) game review sites and he's pretty much saying the same thing everywhere ( why not? I guess if he has a story to tell he'll tell it to as many as he can ).

The trouble is that it is all based upon the well known ( to abused and dissatisfied customers ) Cryptic mantra of 'coming soon™' and whilst it all looks good on the surface, later it becomes obvious that we are being fed more of the same things that already don't work.

More customisation is eye candy and subterfuge. It's 'ooh look, you have no viable pvp or variety in content but IT'S SHINY!'

Star trek is beset by a dearth of content and that's obvious even to the most die-hard fan but promises of more of the same is not content. It's filler.
The recent raidisode ( which gives Admirals an hour or two of distraction ) is still the same, tired old STO nonsense packaged into something claimed to be a testing group quest. It's not new or different. It's just repetitive nonsense.

This is one of the best gaming opportunities handed to a bunch of underfunded monkeys and to be honest I think that even for monkeys they failed.

What happened to his fabled '45 day content patch'?
That would be due around now.
Or was that 'Borg Queen in a room' mission I read about, actually it?

Just curious, as most things they (anyone at Cryptic) say just seem to get swept under a rug as they move on to spinning absolute bullshit about something else.

The sorry part about all this is it's just all about the money with you guys. It has nothing to do with actually delivering quality.

I bought the Box Version and was totally let down by the Shallow nature of the game. It’s a game for players under 12 ... Shinny ships ...and Stupid ground combat ... just fly round in circles m8t!

I enjoyed it for 2 weeks ... then started forcing myself to play the thing because I paid for it ... I hit my cap and next thing you know... NOTHING! No content...it’s like you suddenly run out of content. They throw in a 2 hour mission at your for Endgame justification ... and that’s it ... now you must wait for another 3 weeks for the next one...!

I mean you got to be getting your mother to pay for the subs because no self respecting working person would continually pay for this!
I cancelled as well 3 days ago! ... Try this...before You Buy it! They have a 5 day trial ...it was 10 days...but players finished 70% of the content in 10 days so they ...reduced the trial to 5.... Yea...REALLY!

So the players are going to decide who the new faction will be. That means that you guys are looking at about 3-6 months to make the decision on which faction will be created. This then leaves 6-9 months for actually creating said faction and all of its content.

Can there be any doubt that this new faction will end up just having exactly the same missions that already exist in the game, but with different words inserted?

Cryptic should be focused on expanding their existing content so that there's more to do throughout the leveling process. They should also be -- I don't know -- adding more endgame content, maybe? A LOT more, given how quick and easy it is to get to that level.

Instead of widening the treadmill and putting a big jug of Gatorade at the end, they're building another treadmill.
