@CCon99
They will write anything to plug this game and Cryptic.

No way of changing this channel the remote is broken.

Yes, because obviously, out of 100+ MMOs being tracked, Massively is showing favourtism towards ST:O. How foolish of us to think elsewise...

Dumbass.

They can go days without reporting anything then as soon as a story comes out there is noise to be made. They report on whatever is out there.

Massively is turning out to be nothing but a marketing outlet for developers.

At first glance, that's an impressive sounding statement, until one reads it again and realises it's a lost echo of a confused and broken idea...

...or a blog talking about MMO's. One of those two.

Whenever massively talks about an MMO other than one that someone is playing, that person tends to accuse Massively of favoritism. It's not just silly, it's getting annoying.

Massively talks about a lot of games, its just that when it comes to Cryptic they tend to sugar coat things a little bit. Well at least that is how I see it. Or it just may be the fact that I have a distaste for Cryptic.

Yes some peope are just paranoid and a bit off the deep end when coming up with the idea that massively supports any one mmo.

Though funny to read I tend to get a bit tired of hearing people like that screaming that kind of nonsense.

It's not easy to be objective. It's even harder when being objective could be construed as being overtly negative. It's easier to go to the other side and write in an overly optimistic tone as fewer people will take issue with what you say and are more likely to dismiss your comments as sugar coating or showing favoritism. There's little harm in that unless you take the comments of your readers too seriously.

No one wants ST:O to die (unless you're vengeful). We're disappointed the game released in the condition it's in. Cryptic is working to improve the game. They have to or the effectively throw away the money already invested and sully their reputation within the industry.

Given the two choices of sullying their rep with us or their rep within the industry, they'll choose us. It's an easy choice. There are still people playing the game who will continue to do so no matter what anyone says to the contrary. The game is still bringing in money. There's no point in actively condemning the game or Cryptic, or being overly pessimistic about any of it. What do you think doing so would solve? The best option for all is for Cryptic to succeed and make ST:O the game it *should* have been when it was released.

That being said, I won't support them because doing so at this stage it would be the same as condoning every developer that releases a game unfinished.

Nevertheless, I won't berate those who do choose to support them. They are just more forgiving than I am and their opinions are deserving of the same respect you would give your own.

This is an industry website. Of course they are going to logroll for these companies because they want to stay in good with them and land interviews and such.

If anyone comes to this site or any other industry site looking for hard-hitting, truthful journalism, they are deluded. That is not to fault the writers here. They do a good job but they work on a site with an interest in seeing their industry succeed.
