Very much like the stage sets that look real when you see it from a distance, but once you get close you bump up against it. I was really disappointed that they didn't do something with folks who try to fly into planets beyond bumping against an object... how hard would it have been to start to create a situation where shields start going down, the ship shakes, warnings go off to not try to land a spaceship etc etc. The same goes for running into asteroids; you simply bump into them. This was one of the game breakers imo.

I agree. Funny enough, the graphics were the thing I was worried about most before beta -- the initial screenshots looked too cartoony for my taste. Post-beta, the graphics were the only thing I was really impressed with (besides the character creation of course). The graphics were the only thing true to the Star Trek IP IMO.

I also did my best to burn up in Earth's atmosphere before I left the game. It was a pipe dream of mine that you could fly to Federation Headquarters on Earth from space. At least you don't just fly/warp through planets like you do in EVE.

I agree with the planets one, but there are so many asteroids that I think the bounce thing is the right idea because if I blew up after hitting every asteroid I have so far it would be very irritating. There are obviously better and cooler things they could like maybe crashing through it and it hurting your shields

Bouncing off asteroids is a 'game breaker'?

Get your priorities straight.
