Those prices are much more reasonable. Definitely a relief to see them respond the criticism in a reasonable manner. They didn't even have to sacrifice one of their employees to do it.

I want to enjoy Allods as much as the next guy, but I find myself agreeing with this comment. Sure, they reduced the prices once enough people complained. That is good.

But can we really trust them not to try to price gouge players again? They'll do whatever they think they can get away with. Honestly, it's such a shame. I would have gladly paid a monthly subscription to this game.

What it has is the end game that features building your own guild (or privately) operated "astral ships" that can be used to "sail" to end-game raid instances, and you can also attack other ships with yours for the loots they carry in the treasure room. Takes several people to operate the ship (pilot, navigator, gunners, engineer). So we're talking piracy of the high seas, boarding actions etc.

Looking forward to it, and yes, cash shop prices are much more reasonable now.

How do you PvP? Is there a battleground or scenario?

You mean to tell me that the cost of Gpotatoes didn't go up when they reduced prices on those in games items?

Looks more reasonable. Now they need to add a perma-mount for no more than 10bucks, not this reoccurring monthly thing they still have.

What is the conversion rate of US/Euro to gP?

1 cent = 1 gP (USD)

As a comparison (Runes of Magic):
1 'Diamond' = $0.033

199 Diamonds for a generic permanent mount ($6.57)
440 Diamonds for full bag space – 180 day lease ($14.52 or $2.42/month)

The EU cash shop is also out. It would be nice to see an article about that as well or at least this one updated with prices.

IMO, the cash shop still is a bit pricey but at least now it is affordable. I might go back to play this game after all! :D

Not bloody likely! The PvP in Allods is a bug ridden, hack ridden gankfest of the highest order. Not a chance will I ever touch this game again until they release PvE-only servers.

And you -must- PvP to gain xp after level 22-23. No choice. Same death penalty for PvE or PvP. Yeah... right.

It's been said more often by those better: If this was a PvE subscription driven game, it would be HUGE.

Personally, I don't think they are done in terms of changing the payment model. Some kind of hybrid model ala DDO is still in the works.

Actually, not quite true.

Both sides do share the zones from 23 on but you can Unflag yourself for PvP.

As long as you stay away from PvP quests you're good.

Well, one exception: A rare drop allows players to attack unflagged players which actually I think is Kinda cool.

That's true. Once above 20, prepare to have no quests left or get ganked constantly. And of course, the ones doing the ganking love War Banners which allow people to kill ANYONE regardless of PvP flag. So, not doing PvP quests or turning on your flag won't save you. It's a PvP game through and through. If you don't enjoy forced PvP and having to pay real money per death, stay away from Allods.

I still can't say I'm happy with the increased death penalty, xp rates and enemy strength in patch 1.7, but at least the prices aren't ridiculously high anymore. Especially the cutback on Perfume is amazing; it's been reduced 1050 gPotatoes, that equals 10 bucks and 50 cents. They probably realized lots of people need Perfume anyway, so they might as well make it cheaper.

What turned me off was the lack of sound effects for many of the attacks. That's a total turn-off for me.
