The trickle of information coming from Sony Online Entertainment about DC Universe Online can't be described as a flood quite yet, but it's certainly increasing -- particularly with the addition of the video Q & A sessions and the upcoming weekly comic.
DC Universe Online is still rolling out the cast members along with all the new information, with the latest addition being Kara Starr, also known as Power Girl. This young protégé of Superman is from Earth-Two, in a parallel universe that gives her the standard allotment of Kryptonian powers under a yellow sun. She's got flight and invulnerability as well as super-strength, super-speed, super-flight, and super-...well, assets. So maybe she's not exactly like Superman.
Sony Online Entertainment released the standard concept art as well as several action screenshots, so take a look at the gallery below for a first view of Power Girl.

She looks more like Power Granny in that picture. It might just be bad lighting making her hair appear white.

It's a running joke in DC Comics for years. Power Girl has always been rather well endowed, and she knows it.

That's actually a fairly modest take on Power Girl

Still not seeing what the point of this game is supposed to be, unless you get to be a clone OF these characters running around, or if these are just the quest givers and you get to be generic hero #203930903.....

How is that any different from any other MMO? In WoW, what are you other than generic elf or dwarf #001230123023? In Aion, you're just fairy #1023123012.
At least in this game, I can play along characters I KNOW. Even if it's just random missions, I would still love to run around cities like Gotham City and Metropolis.

I guess just this game looks strange since there's been no info or screens I've seen of what YOU actually create and log in with, whether or not you play out an MMO version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance (DC version), (might be neat in a Guild wars like model), or you get to be Robin's sidekick, or these are just NPCs that stand around looking heroic and send you to clean up their villain's goons and pat you on the head.
Seriously what you yourself get to run around as is very confusing at this point. Unless you really do just pick "Superman #230853" and go from there, that'd be pretty lame for an MMO and would really work better as a single player game.

From the gameplay vids I've seen (check Gametrailers!), DCU characters fight alongside you in some missions. In the example shown, Doomsday escaped from STAR Labs, so Superman and you have to recapture him before power-suited Lexcorp goons kidnap him for research.
And yes, part of the appeal is creating your own hero/villain and dispensing justice/violence alongside Green Lantern/Batgirl/Deathstroke/Silver Banshee/etc. If that's not for you, then... it's not for you.

You dont become superman#### you get to choose your own name, and so on. It may seem strange to you if you never played a Superhero base MMO like CoX. The whole idea behind the game is you create your own hero from your own fatansy land and you play your hero along the side of those characters/or in the given quest. NO the DC characters will not be playable they are NPCs just for quest. You design your own hero choose your powers and name and play the game. If that seems hard to understand then the game is not for you. DC is really trying to allow you to pick from a various of power pool so you can really customize it to your liking. And to those that dont understand game creation and design No character power or style is unique its always have been and will be in a different form.
