We were told last week it was coming, but the huge Guild Wars skill balance that has been long promised finally arrived last night.
The Guild Wars Live Team and Test Krewe have been working on this one for quite a while, in part because of the size and significance of the update. The unusual length of time was also partially because they were striving to address some underlying issues rather than just swinging the nerfbat at a few choice skills, only to create a new flavor of the month build to take over.
While the changes to Shadow Form and the entire concept of invulnerability are creating the loudest buzz at the moment, they weren't the only things to get a look over by any means. This is one of the largest skill updates ever to come to Guild Wars, and the update notes were released at the same time as a developer update elaborating on the thought processes behind many of the changes.
Watch for this Monday's Flameseeker Chronicles, when we'll take a more in depth look at the update.

That's the blandest screenshot in the history of bland or screenshots.

Well, you see. the location is Doomlore Shrine: a place where all the 'runners' used to try to get costumers. It was filled with hundreds of people. Now that ANet nerfed the skills needed for these runs (Yay!), it' deserted. :)

That screenshot basically depicts irony, you would know this if you ever played GW and have been to Eye of the North :)

@Duumac: The customers are other players that want to get a run through a dungeon. Most people do this because they usully don't have to do much and they are only after the end chest, or it's for their title.

got a look at the notes and developer comments.. the changes *do* make sense however I'm glad my main is a Mesmer. Discord Way and the components for it seem to be untouched. ^_^

@ Amidst
indeed.. now if only there was some way to give my heroes Necrosis, however since there isn't... Discord shall do.

Interesting changes. I see they nerfed SoS. Darn, and I capped that skill only two weeks ago on my Ritualist. Though the boost to hammer mastery is a great change; maybe I should consider switching to a hammer on my Warrior, if only to try it out. And the Crippled-condition removal on "Charge!" might just be an incentive for me to use that skill in special occasions. Though the occasion needs to be very special if "Charge!" wants to replace Dragon Slash as my elite skill...

Yeah, it really is an excellent skill.
But I really don't think the nerf is too over the top.
It's has a recharge like every other spirit now, and about the same attack power as Pain. So I still think it has it's uses.
Esp with Painful Bond, it does god awful damage.
Overall, I'd rather it had not happened, but I can live with it.
