Hot on the heels of the announcement about the upcoming World of Tanks MMO comes the first interview about the game. MMORPGItalia chatted with producer Victor Kislyi yesterday to get the scoop on how exactly this new game is going to work.
The site asked a broad range of questions, cutting straight to the chase right at the beginning: "...why should I play your game instead of another one?" It gave Kislyi a good chance to tell fans exactly why he thinks this game will fill a gap in the MMO market. The game is PvP only ("We do not intend to make a PvE mode...") and players have the opportunity to participate in large scale PvP battles.
The full interview is very informative, particularly considering we've not heard much about World of Tanks otherwise. It's worth a look, so head over to MMORPGItalia to see the whole thing.

"This is a game for the real men!" So true.
Sounds excellent.
And let's see the gameplay.

And Rodj, this is clearly not for you unless you want to bring the Amarr religion to the Eastern front =)

I wish more developers would be as straight-talking. Stating outright what type of game they intend to make is so helpful. I, for one, welcome our new tank overlords.

PvP only? Depending on the size of the zones (instanced/openworld) I can see that server population could be a problem; no players = no gameplay. I would not be keen on trundling around just trying to find someone to attack :o
This is not for me generally but a really nice little concept for tank enthusiasts. Nice to see some niche little titles appearing with, what looks like, some reasonable potential.

I really hope this game is similar to Sony's Tanarus from the late 90's. That was a badass online tanking game!

According to their website, "your arsenal includes more than 150 armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy."
Because as we all know, there were no British tanks in WWII...

If you deeper into the website you will see that more tanks are on the way.

I was being sarcastic :)
There were of course quite a few British tanks, including the Churchill, the Centaur, the Comet and the Cromwell
