Problem though is that the bug fixing team will soon get dragooned into ironing out Tyrannis's bugs instead of working on the old ones. Whenever you add content it becomes the priority to patch and fix it, and old problems stay old.

The content team produces unfinished work, and the bug-fixing team doesn't fix bugs.

They strive continually to produce -new- content, rather than producing -finished- or -functioning- content.

A bit sketchy on the EVE page, but interesting. I hope they haven't forgotten Incarna / WIS because of the money that DUST can make for them instead.

I'm just happy they're actively doing SOMETHING with the game all the time, and that it usually involves some kind of interesting content or gameplay addition. Something certain other popular MMOs suck at. At the very worst, it gives people something new to check out for a couple weeks.

I don't see why people are more interested in Incarna (WiS). At least with this expansion you can REALLY do something: industry, gain resources. Incarna is still so ambiguous. All I've heard is you can set up stores and sell items... I mean come on. How are people so intrigued by that?

Because it gives each a unique face, which ships don't really provide. Also, the thought of customizing each and something to do other than "Spinning in Stations" makes the sci fi "simulator" much more whole.

All in all, I doubt Incarna will actually have an impact on the actual endgame aside from attracting a few more people, however it will serve to make the game a complete experience.

Eventually, being able to land on planets, see the inside of your ship, add your corp's / personal logo to your ship, Dust 514, etc will all make for a "you can do anything you want in this virtual universe".

I'm really excited for Tyrannis though :D

Drew makes some really good points. Honestly, if CCP could just HTFU and fix Dominion features so that sov and 0.0 wars worked as intended, many EVE players would be content to wait another six or so months to get new T3 ships or flashy avatars.

The problem is that CCP is balancing mass appeal (have you looked at jumps per hour recently? 0.0 is a ghost town compared to high sec.) with 'late game' mechanics like sov and T3.

This would be fine with me if month by month we saw game issues being discussed and reworked by CCP, so things like rockets or sensor dampening or sovreignity (sp?) weren't broken or mismanaged. But that doesn't happen. So, though I'm looking forward to Tyrannis, I am -still- looking forward to fixes that have been in the pipe for months.

The big problem with CCP and its EVE is that bugs have became normal in the enterprise culture.

This is so sad, imho.
