Allods Online responds to player concern over cash shop

A post from a mod on Allods forum:

So glad I have Fallen Earth and LOTRO (recently re-discovered) to spend my time on.
Quality subscription based MMO's will always win my heart over a F2P that nickles (or $20) and dimes you to death without giving you much in return. Allods had a slim sliver of hope with me that was wiped like a beta after this news.
Arrogance is a huge turn-off. Having subscribers is not a "sure thing" and good companies work at it. Hope Gpotato learns something from this.

Well, GPotato really have "shown their colours", I was very much looking forward to trying the game but the attitude indicated by their pricing policy & their NOT handling it at all apart from what amounts to a limp-wristed & toothless apology shows how arrogant, cynical & downright greedy the company is.

No single item in any "Microtransaction" game should cost more than the sub to the average P2P game in my opinion, and with the game having drawn in as much publicity as it had the approach GPotato has used really smacked of price gouging & trying to make as much cash as possible in as short a time as possible, what they achieved was pricing themselves out of the market, in a collosal faux pas, effectively saying that they have zero faith in the game's longevity.

Way to shoot yourself in the foot GPotato, you just proved the assertion that F2P companies are 0% customer service 100% greed.

GPotato have a lot to learn about MT economics & percieved value, taking a Harrods approach instead of a Walmart approach is ridiculous givn the market they are in, & the quality they are offering.

Also to those complaining about the complainers: don't worry, we're not playing. We're also using our internet-given rights as consumers with a mass media outlet to warn off as many people from this con-job as possible.

On last RU patch, rez from players give FoD now and it lasts 2 hours at 40!
Mounts have been introduced, but need food bought from the CS to be used fully.
Oh, and perfumes (bought from CS) are automatically reapplied...

Forget the lame item shop.. why just not make a 5$ a month subscription?
Seriously who wouldn't pay 5 bucks to play it?

Damn shame as I began to like the game...

Cash shop shenanigans aside, for the love of God, implement Y-axis inversion.

Wow, another Free to play mmo publisher in America takes a potentially awesome game and turns it into a price gouging cash grab.

I stopped playing Allods because, well despite it being Russian and not Korean, it was still run by the same, greedy assholes who run all Korean-American games.

Seriously, why can't one honest, good company actually localize games? Every one of them is the same.
Same, communication or lack there of.
Same, ridiculous lies about caring for concerns.
Same gouging cash shop that would ironically make more money with better prices.
Same rock bottom customer support.
Same delusional "Thanks for the support, guys who almost all told us to fuck ourselves*."
Same stupid fanboys defending them.

*BTW, which article full of support did this rep read exactly? Because that first article was 90% people outraged and maybe two or three mindless tools supporting gPotato.

Basically what is happening is they are trying to milk everything they can from players using the cash shop. The original team that made the game great has left because of the merger & buyout.

The game we liked in beta is now dead. Its like m1 global is running the game now

This is what how I see it.
Allods is actually a pretty impressing looking game for a F2P.
So they probably spent a lot of money on development.
Now the company are trying to calculate how they can get it back with the cash shop.
Now they realized that unless they sell items at the current price gPotato will go bankrupt.

That's how i see it.

Do not play this game. I am a Russian player and spent her 4 months and now the last update has destroyed my character and the balance of the game, has introduced paid spells. Thousands of Russian players protested to the forum. Most members of my gaming guild has gone from the game.
I do not want, what would you think badly about the Russian.
Changes due to change of ownership game. The new owner games Port.ru (brand - Mail.ru) - owned company registered in the U.S.
