The Risia Ice Games -- Turbine's homage to the Olympic Winter Games -- continue in Dungeons and Dragons Online, but all good things must come to an end.
Stormreach Harbor will enjoy its chilly new appearance for only two more weekends, and then it's time to say goodbye to the skating rink, ski jump, and Jack Frostbite. While you're waiting for the next round of Ice Games to begin, Turbine has provided a fresh round of screenshots from Update 3 to enjoy. Take a look at the gallery for the newest shots of the denizens of Stormreach enjoying the party, then head into Dungeons and Dragons Online to join them in the quest for the elusive purple ice coin.
The Risia Ice Games are every Thursday through Sunday for the remainder of February, and all the information can be found on the official site.

My friends have been bugging me to try this game out, I keep saying "no, I don't need another MMO right now."
I can't believe they never told me about a winter games.. that is certainly more than enough to get me to try it.

Oh, I bought the ice skates on one of my characters with free points, well that was a waste of 90 points, this event is so boring to me. Just frustrating, with very little rewards, and they pulled an "A-Net" making some of the recipes require festival twigs which most people trashed (mini pigs anyone?) Just one ski jump with some coind and, blah, just not fun at all.

Oh thank god, I'm not the only one who thinks this. My boyfriend's been trying to get me to play DDO with him for months. I have two characters, and I made it to level 5 on both of them, but I'm already bored of it (especially since I'm stuck f2p).
I tried the ice games for a total of 3 hours and managed to get 10 of the white coins and nearly killing myself repeatedly in the process, only see that on top of the skates, it's also level dependent on your stats. Being level a 5 cleric, I couldn't do crap with them and quickly slid off the ramp and straight into the water. The ice skating rink is even worse. I didn't even bother with the recipe and snowballs I got and tossed them. I just wanted one of those cure moderate candy canes (which I never got, my boyfriend gave me one of his).
