For the umpteenth time, Cryptic appears to have done zero research as to what their demographic wanted in this game. That, or they knew this feature would be on a top ten list of most players yet were so anxious to get the game out that they figured they would dangle this carrot in front of players who are now placated at the prospect of seeing this in a future release. One that will cost significant monies.

This abortion on the Star Trek franchise continues.

What the "target demographic" wanted was to gather on ten-forward sipping Romulan Ale and geeking out on role-playing a Vulcan until the rest of the PC crew wanted to lynch the sorry bastard.

They wanted to play a Chief Engineer,Chief Medicial Officer, et cetera...which sounds just great on paper...until you realize the half the time the medicial officer is going to be doing nothing until an away mission or your captain decides to get a massive ego and send the ship into a firey death.

This doesn't even take into account waiting for your crew to actually show up on the same time schedule you're on.

Yeah...thanks but no thanks.

Not even Star Trek fans could agree on what they wanted with STO, please don't try to pretend that ST fans were all united under a common idea, half the time they were bickering at each other rather than talking about STO....just look at the old MMORPG.com forums....it's sad.

The game is out. If it wants to survive in this market Cryptic must acquiesce to what we want in this game now....not some ideas that require the game to be rebuilt from the ground up.

They need to tighten up PvP.

More content.

More ship/character options.

More missions that require grouping.

PvP war, massive ship vs. ship combat....The Borg trying to conquer Earth space...whatever.

I bought the game...installed it...played it for about 4 hours, thought...hmm...this is WoW in space....without as much content...and even more laggy servers (if possible)....not for me...I'll go back to playing EVE...and even that is a game of which I'm beginning to Tire.

If you only spent 4 hours, you really didn't get a good understanding of the game. The T2 missions are pretty interesting, if you take the time to read what's going on. I don't understand the ppl who say there is no lore to this game. Everything seem to be connected to at least one of the series or movies in some way, even some really obscure stuff that you probably need to be a serious nerd to get.

SHIP'S COMPUTER: (beep!) Attention STO players. We will give you ship interiors at no extra cost. Soon. Probably. They will not do anything except sit there and lag the servers. But you can skip downloading that EVE free trail now because STO is much, much better.
