With GU15 hitting the servers recently, and the Ewok Love Festival coming on the 9th, those fiercely loyal to Star Wars Galaxies are enjoying the choices of different things to do. Add to it the fact that Sony Online Entertainment has reactivated the accounts of previous Star Wars Galaxies players until March 1st, and we can see why some would be heading back in to check out all the new stuff since the last time they played.
Today's One Shots shows off a screenshot taken by a very nervous (and thankfully non-squished) Jonathan C. who writes in: [Here's] my character Smarty Jones outside of cnet. [I was] coming back from some missions when I ran into [an] ATAT.
Are you back in a game you haven't played in a while? Taking advantage of some free time? If so, we'd love to see what you've found in going back. Just send in a screenshot along with your name, the name of the game, and a quick description to oneshots AT massively DOT com. We'll post it out here and give you the credit.

What is amazing- that they finally figured out how to do the AT-AT. At the time of the NGE they had still not figured out how to put AT-ATs into the game (ones that walked).

Oh, they knew perfectly well how to add walking ATAT's to the game well before the NGE hit. One spawned at the conclusion of the Jump to Lightspeed betatest, and walked all over the "end-of-the-world/-beta-party"-participants.
They just didn't have any reason to add it to the game.
After all, we didn't see ATAT's in the lore until the timeline had progressed to Hoth.
And that's where we've finally arrived in SWG.
... An alternate timeline, though - filled with Jedi. :(

My kid is playing (he had a vet account). He is loving it. His entire house was still there after not playing for two years (all his millions was gone though). I peek over his shoulder every now and then and am disgusted with the number of Jedi running around. The Hoth instance is very good though. Developers deserve a kudos for pulling that off with the Everquest I graphics.
While I won't be going back, I think SOE as a company is doing great and recovering nicely from the PR nightmare of NGE. I'm looking forward to Planetside II.

Yes your correct, i made several trial accounts when first available and they are not active. I was thinking of telling a friend that quit several years ago but im guessing his in inactive also.
Oh you can see if your account is active by downloading the Station Launcher and logging in, it will say how many days you have left to play.

Loved the crafting and exploration of this game, shame the combat was boring. I'm tempted to play again to see all the things they have added to crafting though.

It's been over 4 years now, please get over it. How many other things from 4 years ago do you still whine about? As for the "bait and switch", I'm pretty sure SOE gave refunds to all who bought ToOW and didn't like the NGE. Maybe you didn't hear about those refunds. If you didn't like the switch, they refunded your bait.
