If there's one storyline that comic book writers love coming back to, and there certainly is, it's the idea of the main characters losing their abilities. Seeing whether or not heroes can overcome challenges without their gifts, or if villains are as dangerous when merely mortal, gives a lot of definition to normally superhuman antics. It's time for creators in City of Heroes to take on that trope, because the latest Mission Architect contest is all about taking the power away from the best-known champions of the city or the isles.
The contest, running until February 24th, requires an arc centered around a known figure losing their powers, be they hero or villain. If that's not enough to capture the feel, though, the arc is meant for the lowest possible level band of 5-10. There's also a brief reminder that part of the goal is to stretch one's legs, and that the best arcs will likely incorporate features not generally found in low-level content. As with the prior contest, the prize is a permanent title and a potential Developer's Choice pick for the arc, so City of Heroes players should start thinking about what would be a fun way to be unempowered.

I find it hilarious that when Champions online was announced that it was suppose to be the death of City of Heroes, but it would appear that City is still kicking ass and is a lot more interesting then CO.

Given the tone of most of the comments made on CO articles I think in this case more is definately not better.

@Sixcess: /agree. I'm glad CoH doesn't get as many comments as Champions Online, WAR, Age of Conan, SWG, WoW, EVE, STO, etc. because most of their comments are by haters, whiners and trolls.
@Stark1: There's plenty of excitement on CoH's forums about Going Rogue, so I don't know where you got that idea from - I guess you pulled that opinion from the same deep dank place where your sarcasm came from.
Most CoH subscribers I know don't bother visiting this site for two particular reasons: a) they're not looking for another game, b) they don't think this site is worth posting comments on, because so many commenters here are ill-informed and venomous-for-the-sake-of-being-venomous - while CoH has the least venomous and least whiny community of any western MMO I've ever played (which is pretty much all of them).

Yet, when power customization was released, CoH posters complained about how much coverage CO got and how little attention a feature that had been requested for years was implemented and in their eyes beat the competition as far as quality.
I think the only dark place is in front of your eyes because you obviously can't even see your hand in front of your face.

To most of the people Champions is considered as a disappointment, City of X isn't considered as a disappointment, so yeah, it might be a bit old, but I'm not really sure that at the moment there are more people playing champions than city of X.
