Allods Online has just announced an extension to its fourth closed beta testing, with an open beta looming on the horizon. We've been giving the game some healthy coverage since it entered the early beta stages, and we're always excited to interact with the developers and publishers whenever we can. But now it's your turn!
As with our previous Community Q&As, we want to hear from our readers on the pressing questions you have for the developers. Whether you've been enjoying your time in the game or not, we want to know what you'd like answered. So if you'd like your question considered, simply leave a question as a comment on this post by Monday, February 8th at 8am EST. Or, if you'd feel more comfortable with email, send one off to me at shawn at massively dot com. We'll gather up the questions and send the best off to the Allods team for the answers. Once we get the answers back, we'll post them here for all to see. Please remember to keep your questions respectful and your criticisms constructive. Beyond that, have at it!

Why not? I'm saying I'm not drawn into the game, but that doesn't mean I don't have any questions about it and the one I happened to ask relates to a feature that no other game has and which I find a distraction. I'm therefore interested to know whether it will be a permanent feature or not. It's a perfectly valid question.

Will combat, especially in the earlier levels, be sped up to be more actiony and less turny?
The graphics are great for the game and the atmosphere is pretty cool, but when you engage mobs and spend 5 minutes mashing the same three keys it gets boring.
The ideas for combat are great, but sharing a CD for your base attack with spells or having spells with 3-5 second cast times is too much.

Combat does get much faster in higher levels AND this is not an easy game. Getting reputation gear, having a nice build WILL make your leveling much faster than someone who doesnt understand the stats very well even at level 4! I actually like their in depth system and would hate them to "retune it" and break it at higher levels.

Question number 1: UI funcionality is the main problem with the game - too little UI customization. You cannot resize or move windows, bars, etc... Will more UI funcionality be added in the near future? As well as a /who command that you can use to help find group members? Is there a LFG interface in the plans as well? The lagging group and raid interfaces also make healing quite a nightmare at this time, are you looking into it?
Question number 2: Will ADD-ONs be supported to some extent? How about some basic macros (this specially affects pet classes, specially the warden class since they have little control over their pet).
Question number 3: The Psionicist archetype was obviously designed with some other way than Trance to get rid of mental overload (Pain Transfer). Its previous implementation was inbalanced but are you looking into some other ways to manage mental stress rather than a single skill or a low proc % in one of the racials?

1. Im in the same boat as wolfiebr, i would like to know about the UI customization options. Right now the interface seems large and clunky and could use a bit of refinement. Currently you can create lua to alter the games UI but no official API exists for allowing addons nor has Astrum Nival put out an official word on whether creating "unofficial addons" will be allowed or perceived as a banable offense. Will we see an official API release by Astrum Nival/will they allow us to create addons period? If not will they be restricting the lua functionality to prevent potential game integrity problems?
2. Will there be a future patch that will allow character appearance customization similar to Aion's reskinning, or Guildwars's dyeing?

If and when they plan of fixing the patching bug that has effected lots of people? I have been unable to play since the last patch. When it affects every PC I own...I know its not my fault :)
