Mortal Online's open beta began yesterday, but closed beta players have been enjoying the game for a while now, right along with the development team.
The Mortal Online team has been collecting game footage from closed beta and working on a game trailer for the past few weeks. They're drawing the suspense out by showing it to fans in parts, and part one was released today. They do warn us that it's not super polished, as it was created using the then-current build of the game, but it's still a great look at the world of Nave.
You'll see a fair amount of players, as the video is composed entirely of in-game footage from beta, and Mortal Online sent out a big thank you to all the players who participated in the production. Take a look at part one of the trailer after the jump, and we'll keep an eye out for the next two parts!

Live in NY.
System is average I would guess:
E8400
4gigs of RAM
GTX 280 OC edition (1gig)
Internet is above average:
Dlink N gigabit
Verizon FIOS (fiber) 20m down 20m up.
Took me all day to download and install the patches and game. I average 2.7-3megs a second from most patchers and sites. Once I finally got it installed I went through the character creator.
My thoughts:
Very archaic front end. Everything looks like it was coded in the early 90's. Environment looks decent until you look at the actual ground. Character models are average. But the game itself lagged like crazy, all over my screen I just saw NPC and people walking up walls, into walls, through the air, jerking back and forth....
I made a vow to myself a while back to never buy an mmo that isn't ready for live. I am not longer going to fall for those games that promise a release day patch, so for me this game isn't even close to being a purchase. Personal opinion of course, as I am sure there are plenty of people willing to throw their money at a game that isn't finished and will have fun, I am just not one of them. I feel as though if I did give them money I would be condoning the continued problem of unfinished work being passed off on the end user with the patch system being the excuse for it.

First-Person Fantasy with EVE-like freedoms and nice graphics - sounds too good to be fun.
And the last stress test I was in kinda made me not want to see this game released within at least a year or so.
So it looks promising but right now definately needs more time.

They should call this game "Caveman Online" because the mechanics of it are just as primative as our ancestors living in caves.

The graphics are "all that" the rest of the game doesn't exist! For me it's like a tech demo oh yea and the UI? Who "designed" that? So in my opinion this is not OB it's more an Alpha.

This is a sad game to see go down this road. I liked 90% of the stuff they were doing. graphic style, sandbox, real time combat that did not take months to get into.
Think they are in to deep a whole now. Not sure they can dig themselves out.

Don't forget, this is currently running off one server site in Sweden. I'm not surprised if American gamers are having trouble. I'm hoping I'll be better off, down here in south Poland though.
