While this may be new to the MMO Crowd for this game, it's actually pretty identical to Modern Warfare 2's Prestige functionality.

I do wonder how many people left MW2 to go to MAG. I was in the MAG beta from the start and through each iteration, and I'm back playing MW2 instead of making the switch. Just wasn't impressed with the game modes, maps, or mechanics....

I'm really enjoying MAG so far. In my experience, MW2 is more of a 'jump right in and blow stuff up fast' sort of game. There are more weapons and more 'extreme' crazy kind of stuff in MW2 and it will likely appeal more to people who love FPS games more due to the abundant guns, better graphics, and more 'extras'.

I find MAG tobe much more of a tactical sort of game that really gives you the feeling of being in a massive war. It can be brutally difficult at times (I'm still getting my butt handed to me regularly) but when a squad works together they can really make a difference. I've played for quite a few hours so far and I still feel like a complete idiot on most of the maps. The tactical possibilities are endless for leaders who understand the maps and have grunts who have mics and will actually listen to orders.

For now though, a lot of people are still playing MAG as if it was just a larger version of MW2. I have a mic and mostly people just complain about things, yell at each other when losing, and occasionally call for a medic. Hopefully I can find an adult oriented clan at some point so that I can really enjoy the game.

I've heard nothing but good things about this game.
Not my type, but if I played FPS's, I'd buy this game.

Really? I've heard more bad things than good from beta players including myself. Not to mention the current professional review average is 77%.

FPS games are my type of game more so than MMOs except when I'm addicted to one, but this game just too... average, too generic to really grab me. It's the kind of FPS I like with massive teamwork focused battles, but it really doesn't deliver on the gameplay itself. Plus, most reviews are finally explaining to people that the game may as well not even have a 256 player mode as the way the game is designed defeats the purpose of even having that large player count.

This game probably isn't going to sell well. If you factor in the PS3s rather low attach rate for first-party games and that it's also going up against other triple A games from the end of last year and the huge games rolling out this quarter, it really doesn't look too good.

I am a PC gamer - mostly because my day job is graphic arts and 3D work, so my computer is killer for games - so I am missing out on this one.

But the comment about people using the mics to complain caught my eye. I recently jumped into MW2 and find it pretty fun. From the MMO world, being a disposable body is something to get used to. I mean, in MW2 you die and big deal. So you loose your killing streak. Whatever.

And then, when people do use the mic in MW2 they seem to just bitch and complain. It is interesting how in Left for Dead 2, my recent addiction, the expert players work so well together. And it is actually fun to chat. We even get to know one another and it makes me want to hit the friend button. I am a bit dissapointed at the lack of positive team-speech on MW2. It could be such a better game and far more compelling.
