Hopefully they can get this fixed. For the past several weeks the server stability has been a joke out in 0.0.

Though even if they do fix it I think EvE is pushing up against the wall that the current technology, and their implementation of it, can handle.

There was another one of these before dominion, most people complaining didn't help on that one either

Same size fleets pre-Dominion now cause lag, so it should be a bug that can be fixed.

However, I agree that fleet battles have got stupid large over the years and I've yet to see any other game engine even match EVE's in sheer number of people "on grid" at once. There is only so much that modern hardware, internet backbone, etc can process.

Ladies and gentlemen: fasten your seat bells.

And now let's add some trivial things like a gravity, landscapes, some trees and real planets to walk on ....

... and then suddenly all EVE fanboys will understand why their game can't be compared with traditional mmorpg's where our avatars at least have ... feet.

The hype of this boring "thing" has gone through the roofs lately and it's about time everyone is put back to his feet concerning this DUD in space...

Welcome, Bossy, to what the internet likes to call.... an opinion.

See, these trivial things such as gravity, landscapes, avatars walking on the ground, etc... it has its playerbase. It's a very LARGE playerbase, mind you, but still only a portion of the MMO fanbase.

Remove the gravity, landscapes, and walking avatars and strap someone into a ship like in EVE online, and you're appealing to about 300,000 plus people who happen to, I don't know, like that sort of thing. It can easily be compared to other MMOs because they're both GAMES. They just have different flavors.

I, myself, am more partial to the sci-fi side of things anyway.

Since most people aren't involved in 100+ ship fleet battles, this is a bug that hasn't cause me any problems.

I know a couple of the southern alliances have CTAs asking their members to be present for this. Hopefully we'll see at least another 100 from the south compared to last time.

I really hope this gets sorted out fast.
