The 2010 San Francisco Star Trek Convention is going on this weekend, and tickets are still available at the door, so grab whatever version of the souvenir communicator badge you happen to have and head to the Westin St. Francis Hotel. The convention will have Patrick Stewart and William Shatner, sure, but that's not the really big news.
The Star Trek Online team will be in attendance, so keep an eye out for them on the show floor. Should you miss them there, just go to the Swig Bar near Union Square Saturday, where the team will be holding a meet and greet from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. For those two hours, they'll be hanging out with fans, talking about Star Trek Online and buying a drink for anyone in a Star Trek Uniform.
If you're in the area and a fan of STO, it'll be a fun way to spend a few hours Saturday evening -- have a great time!

I hope they have a Q&A session. It'd be great if they answer some of the top questions fans of the IP have regarding the game and its direction. Who knows... maybe I'll even re-pre-order.

...questions are regarding the game's direction?
yep is probably looking for more than the marketing speak, more than some of the more flimsy promises we've seen from MMO companies.
Probably wants to know :
what the end game is in STO, raids, trading, crafting and how to extend that so it provides content over the longer term?
how are the experiences for other races going to play into the overall experience, other than being a sole PvP experience?
How they are going to expand the universe and give more variation to missions?
How are they going to embrace user generated content?
will you always have to be a ship's captain, will a bridge view be accessible to allow players to control the ship and play together, rather than just an extended cosmetic interface?
what are the plan to incorporate IP elements such as films, actors and content going forward.
how are updates to be published, will there be episodic content similar to lotro, new zones and quests like WoW, what is the frequency of new things to do, and what can we expect from the first?
I as many, want more than, wait and see, I was thinking about getting a lifetime, but I need to know what I will have a lifetime doing, if it's not the above, I don't think I'd be too impressed.
I don't want to put words into the original posters mouth, but I've seen these questions raised by many before, without responses of real substance sadly.

200 bucks to get a photo op with Patrick Stewart, and that's AFTER you pay admission. I saw him in a play once and was about 15 feet from the stage, but I've never talked to him. *criez*
