You've gotten all the news and updates, and you've even gotten a handy guide to conquest mode for Global Agenda. If you're ever going to be ready for Hi-Rez Studio's high-action game, it's now. So it's no coincidence that we've gotten news on the game's pre-purchase options, as well as the early start details for all players and the chance to reserve your character name prior to the February 1st launch date. After all, if you've gotten the game via Steam, don't you want to just download and start playing right away? That little grayed-out name is mocking you.
The latest newsletter details the early start, which will allow players to reach Level 10, reserve their character name, and unlock special pre-order items. It's also the only chance that pre-order players will have to claim their No Elves Flair and Commonwealth Helmet. Luckily, it's easy to hop in between January 28th and January 31st, and take a little time to start playing the game and forming Agencies. Beta players will also get the option to keep their character name during the transition to Live, although not their levels or data. Good news all around for Global Agenda fans.

Has anyone here had a chance to try GA? I only recently heard about it and it's very interesting to me. I want a new "MMO" that isn't going to take up the kind of time in my life that WoW was... and I do enjoy shooters.
Can someone give me an idea what it is like?

It's comparable to Team Fortress 2 in that it's a shooter with classes. Throw in a monthly subscription, level progression, crafting, gear drops and persistent effects from the result of the fights and that's GA in a nutshell.
If youre really into shooters and you want to see one married to an MMO, be on the lookout for APB, currently in closed beta. Allegedly there will be no subscription fee, leveling or crafting. There will be cars, however. I intend to play both, especially since I can hop in and out of APB without feeling im wasting $15 a month.

Being I know HiRezChaz lurks here. I will say that it's a unique game, more like a hybrid shooter with a mix of mmo type elements.
I don't know anything on the market today that you can compare apples to apples with.

I am interested in trying this game. I am not overly happy about the small scope of battles though. I was sort of hoping it would be more scaled on the lines of Planetside.

I been signed up for a beta for nearly a year and now they expect me to buy before I try the game. Not prepared to lay out money for a MMO I may not enjoy.

Yes, all good, but I am still a bit disappointed I didn't have the right to buy collectors because I was in EU...

Probably gonna pass on GA for now only because I didn't get a chance to try the beta and probably wont since it comes out in less than two weeks. Very curious about how it plays though!

Someone on the GA forums mentioned their Dad described the game as Tribes 2 Fortress. It's a very fun game but you have to like doing shooter pvp all the time, as that's all there really is. There are some missions against npcs for blueprint loot to make items, but that would really be the only reason to run them, you get more xp/credits doing random pvp.
The MMO part is the mailbox, auction house, crafting, EVE-like conquer map and its rewards, having a constant pool of buddies to frag with.
The non-sub shooter is a 4 class jetpack/laser gun version of tf2 really, and besides your look in armor/dyes, you wont be able to customize your character further, all the upgrades from blueprints and what not is sub only, there's no auction house/mail access to non-subs even if they could equip the implants and what not.
At least it has its own matchmaking system so you don't have to sit there lfg for 3 hours =)

The NDA is lifted anyone can speak about, read the boards.
The Game is fun but imho not worth to pay a full price monthly fee for. But you can play without monthly fee but you cant craft and conquest then.
For crafting you must PvE and i dont want to PvE and for AvA you must be in one of the big alliances to have some fun.
Btw. its not a FPS its a TPS (Third Person Shooter) and The Battles are 10vs10 and myabe some "Connected Battles" up to 6x10vs10.

Yeah I really like to support indie developers but this game is not worth the time. If only this game was as good as Team Fortress2 or even Tribes but it has far outdated game play and maps. All the sweet maps and scenarios like you would find in Enemy Territory:Quake Wars and other similar games is absent.
