Darkfall really is coming along. Yes it had a LOT of problems at release and it still has some problems today.

When I look at how far Darkfall has moved forward compared to Warhammer and AOC its amazing. They have a whole company smaller than Mythics makrketing department but still pump out great content.

Darkfall is VERY different to most other MMOs. Darkfall is by far the best game on the market at the moment (for me) I understand many will hate it and it will never have wow numbers. But I also understand that if they stick with their little segment of the market, it will have a long long future.

What I've never understood about PvP-centric games is why they don't expand their appeal by opening the odd non-PvP server. No PvE-centric game ever manages to avoid the demands for a PvP server yet it never happens the other way round.

In this case the game looks attractive and I'd be interested in trying it out but I have zero interest in PvP. If the devs are happy with a narrowly-focussed niche success then fine, but I feel they're missing out on a greater potential success. Open PvP represents a very small section of the overall MMO market.

This is a PVP game... simple as that.

If you want PVE go play one the 100's of other titles.

Oh I understand that, I'm just pointing out that such an argument never wins the day in a PvE game where the PvP'ers badger away until the devs cave in and allow an originally unintended PvP option (eg EQ2, LoTRO), and that the commercial success of the game would be much greater if it was opened up (on separate servers without prejudice to the core design of the game) to the other potential 90% of the market.

I agree with the point Seffrid is making about other MMO's that happen to be PvE centric. There is a tendency for some PvP fans to aggressively pursue full implementation of PvP beyond any originals plans for it. All you need to do is look at any forum board pre-release for any recent PvE MMO and see the swarm of threads begging for open PvP.

On-topic: I'm glad that Darkfall continues to do well, like EvE it gives a home to a certain part of the MMO community that very few (for the moment anyway, with Earthrise and Mortal Online coming the competition for the hardcore crowd will be tough) other games do.

PVE server for Darkfall = dead server. Theres just no point to a pure PVE server. For one you would get board very fast. You gona kill mobs all day and craft gear your never gona loose?

while in some cases I can understand the appeal of a PvE server. DAoC had a PvE server. It's a different type of game, you work together with friends, doing dungeon crawls, exploring, that good stuff.

But in Darkfall, despite having some of the best PvE content around, it really is all designed from the ground up to have PvP involved. Scarcity of resources, to the UI itself, dragging and dropping inventory items. Just doesn't translate well without some sort of PvP.

PvPers are good at whining. One reason we always get a pvp server thrown in. So i agree with the statement. DF servers are pretty massive things though, equal to maybe 2 or 3 normal MMO servers. So opening up and extra server is not extremely easy.

Q: Is 10k players online simultaneously on 1 server still something you consider may happen in Darkfall?
A: This is something that has already happened. The question is how much higher we can go.

It's bs like this that makes me hate this company with a passion. When being vague no longer helps their cause, Tasos and co proceed to drown you with their endless diarrhea of lies and deceit.

You have proof that it's a lie?

It's impossible to disprove something that hasn't been proven. If you know the history of Darkfall and you still take every ludicrous statement made by this company for granted then, well, you're very naive, to put it as mildly as I can.
