Love EQ2. I've never felt at home in an MMO before EQ2.

Gotta say, EQ2 is certainly kicking ass right now, especially since that $5 deal a while back. If you can get past the facts that it has a dated engine (with an update coming in the expansion apparently) and how you'll rarely group until you get to higher levels, it's a pretty solid game with TONS of content.

Where did you hear of a new engine being applied? do you have a link?

I think that might finally drag me into the game :)

Not a completely new engine, just an upgrade to shader model 3.0. Google "EQ2 shader model 3.0", there's a couple youtube videos of the preview that they showed at the last SoE fanfaire.

EQ2 is the best mmo I have ever played, but I just got into it too late and could never really experience what I wanted to. All the old raid dungeons were never run, nor were most of the regular lower level dungeons, which just ate me up on the inside since I love being able to do everything in a game.

Would you play if you could run the dungeons? Ever since a really fun trial last summer, I've wanted to have a go at really getting into the game. Just need 4-6 regulars to get through all those sweet dungeons I suppose.

Just 4-5 players, balanced classes, and you'll get across a lot of dungeons and content. Enough to keep you entertained for months and months.
