I wish them the best of luck. Anything that gets more players into nullsec is a good thing.

Agony is a great bunch, good luck to their new approach to teach PVP.

Might have to look into this, I've only been playing for a month so far and haven't really done anything other then some missions and a lot of training....

It would be interesting to see how it works out. A note to them, and to E-Uni and agony: have a presence in the recruitment channel! A lot of newbies go there, and I have never seen any of the helping corps advertise there. They wont know where your chat room is because they can't search for it in game.

EVE is a great game, this is yet another reason why. I have a 2 month old alt who might be interested in learning some PVP. Will give these guys a try.

Eve sucks, report on a game people actually play. EVE is fringe and always will be. Every 4th article on this site is about EVE. No one cares move TFO already.

P.S.- EVE players are the most vocal DB minority in MMO history, flame back evetards!

Um... I guess what you are trying to say is that you do not like EVE Online?

Wow, thank you for the article James, I appreciate it.

@Rambie yes, Agony is a good bunch. No, OUCH is not their new approach, it's an entirely new corp that I'm running. OUCH is not associated in any way with any other Eve training corp.

@Dblade thanks for the tip :)

How about basic apprenticeship for learning the game? ^_^

I have a decent feel of it. But I'm stuck on a mission and not sure how to approach it.

In game I recxommend the 'helpmymission' channel which will set you up with a fair amount of advice and or actual help if they are in the area.

aside from that eve-survival has a mission synopsis that will get you through many a tough one

This is a pretty hilarious article. It should be titled... "EVE players try to save game" The story is at eleven, tune in.

The introductory pitch to the new players........

*sponsor*
"Come on now, dont worry about that ship, that happens all the time (sponsor smiles) People in EVE have the right to blow your ship up whenever and however they choose, its just the way it is, and its fun!! Playing solo is not what EVE is about and we will make sure you join a corp so you have the fun we want you to have!!!"

*sponored individual*
"But what if i dont want to join a corp and i just want to run missions and occasionally explore and eventually get a nice ship?"

*sponsor* (laughing histaricaly) ...*cough*...."thats a nice dream but we dont play that way in EVE, you see people that have nice things, or people that like to have fun and explore...well, it just doesnt fit in with the whole i am going to blow you to hell theme we have going here in EVE. That said you can join us...and we will teach you how to be just like us and SURVIVE in EVE!!"

*sponsored individual*
".............Umm, no thanks.

(chuckle)

I don't think eve needs saving - last I heard they are still growing their subscriber base.

It's quite fascinating that the article doesn't talk about Eve needing saving, nor does OUCH exist to save Eve, so I'm confused as to how some commenters seem to think it's about saving Eve...

OUCH provides nullsec survival training for pilots who have never been in nullsec, or have never been successful in nullsec. We help them get some basic skills for operating in nullsec.

Before anyone listens to the troll and his misinformation (probably a plant from some other Eve training corp or alliance that feels threatened by our presence), maybe you could have a chat with me in-game and find out what OUCH is actually about. :)

He probably doesn't play Eve. He is the type of videogamer who doesn't like to have meaningful (both positive, and negative) interactions with other users of the same product.

I suggest he waits for DUST, we'll be happy to incorporate his centric thinking into our massively multiplayer game then when players like him will have some use.
