I have not had much luck yet with the beta client, time to reinstall and give it another try since the latest patch.

Curious to give this 'player driven' economy a run through.

man, i think this game has the most potential for any sandbox game coming up, although i haven't been in a while since my video card went down. they have no nda so lots of good info can be found on their site

Given the continual success of Eve Online - this may be the trend of the future for MMO's - IMO

well if they beat the stronghold mmo to the punch, they could have a gold mine.

I just attempted to sign up for their beta.

As I get to the bottom, after filling out all the info, I see that the form is missing a submit button. Fantastic.

If the application process is down, removing the submit button "probably" isn't the correct way to get the form down, guys.

Alright!

It works in Firefox 2, just not IE 7...though the button shows up halfway down the beta signup, instead of at the bottom...it really doesn't make sense. But whatever, I'm signed up!

Looks very interesting. I miss Ultima Online and the other sandbox games.

heh,,just went to chk what you meant, the submit button is there, but it is at the end of mandatory info,,it's by: 2 additional informational (optional) and is a lil covered up by the onal in optional, so guess you couldn't see it.

funny how you could miss that and come running back here to slam them, instead of just going to their forums and asking if their is a problem, i know nothing about you man, but i really don't think you have the 'beta tester' mentality,,come'on you got boggled by a button being in the middle of a page rather than the bottom....

Fantastic, Pbintx2001, I wont be in the beta for your game then!

I like the idea for their game. I have just signed up for their forums and do not know the proper channels to communicate bugs to.

Honestly, if you can't get a beta application page correctly done, though, I'm worried about the creation of the mmo itself, because that, my friend is leagues and bounds beyond a web form. ;) But certainly, I agree, if I got in the beta, I'd let them know my displeasure with the beta application page.

Perhaps I'll take a crack at you, because you feel you needed to take one at me? Atleast my punctuation and sentence structure would make -sense- in my beta bug reports, atleast I would capitalize and spell words correctly in my report. Maybe the shift-key, commas, and the such, boggles you a bit, right?

man, it's beta...i would rather have dev's working on game than worried that their submit button on beta ap is in the wrong place. Even better i consider the misplaced button part of the ap, if you can't get around that problem, then wait for the game...beta is all about problems and bugs,, and lil cry babies who are just want to play a game for free should just wait for it to be released....

also, as to it being my game,, i haven't played in a couple months, if your read my post up above, but then i forget your about the "cry first and read later" so dude, go ry to someone else and maybe they will wipe your runny nose and give you a tissue

I don't see how the quality of the web team and the actual game development team relate at all. The company could have a terrible website and an amazing game, or vice versa...

You didn't quite get my reference, When I said I wouldn't play your game I was referencing that when you have an mmo, yourself, your very own special place, I wont play it, then you wont have to worry about people that find your mmo's website difficult to use!

I am glad you think the quality of their website, or, lack-there-of, is part of the beta application test. Anything to win the argument, right?

I generally don't come on massively.com to argue with people. Seriously, it isn't worth it. Glad that is what you come here to contribute, though, jibes at people. Awesome.

well guess you didn't get my subtle reference that your just a lil cry baby and no matter where you go and what you do in life your going to be crying about something that wasn't spoonfeed to you, your an idiot who couldn't find a submit button and instead of scrolling up a page and a half to see if anything was odd you go to another site and cry...so man if it makes ya feel good cry, cry away,
yes we all know your a big boy now and shouldn't have to put up with things like that

jeez pbintx2001, get a grip please - this isn't Xbox live, or some unmoderated forum - resorting to those kind of insults just gets you ignored by other commentors.

Man up please, and have a valid conversation, not "your just a little crybaby".
And also, it's "you're", not "your".

Everything works fine for me, and I didn't have any problems signing up. I wonder why that is... Oh, I know, that's because I keep my browsers updated, instead of expecting webdevelopers to write their code in accordance with outdated standards. MS released IE8 in March last year, FF3.0 was released back in June, and Mozilla is urging people to upgrade to 3.5 already.

To be fair, some people are workig at offices where the systems are locked down by the IT admins - I've worked in a place a while back that was using windows 2000/IE6, and wouldn't let employees install anything. in a display of guts I didn't think I had, i marched the IT guys to the boss's office and told them all to upgrade, or at least install FF3.

Amazingly, I wasn't fired, and we got FF3.

I played in the beta as of about a month or two ago. I don't even remember if there was an NDA. Even if there was, I don't think I'm breaking it by saying there was very little in the game. It really should have been called an alpha. Extremely buggy, hardly anything was in working order, and really very little functionality to speak of apart from rudimentary gathering/crafting and an extremely simplistic click-and-watch combat model.

That's not to say the game couldn't become something great. It could. The potential is there. Just that it's a loooooooooooong way from completion. I would imagine the beta I played will be nothing like the final product, whenever it does come out.
