Perhaps the new content will be several new zones collectively called Outsideland.

We should wait patiently because Blizzard hasn't announced all of the Cataclysm lore.

Funny, I hear they were working on a zombie menace approaching from the frozen continent of Southrend.

Are you sure the expansion wont be called "Apocalypse", and be all about an ancient dragonlike being that has been hiding in underground?

It's not WoW worship so much as pointing the painfully obvious fact that Alganon blatantly stole UI and art assets from Blizzard.

Maybe the new content should copy another MMO? Perhaps Age of Conan this time.

We're looking to the future....we just haven't decided on what features we plan to rip off from another MMO yet.

I kind of find it odd that a game company has to plea, no, beg the community to give it more time. If they were on the right path, I would think they wouldn't need to resort to sending these mercy letters out. If I was the producer I would say, wait a second, we're doing something wrong here.

Can I ask a question?

Have any of you actually played this game? I don't know, but it sounds like most of you are trashing a game you have never even played before.

Just so you know, I play EVE online so don't know what a WOW clone would look like anyway since I've never played it before.

I don't need to play the game to notice the stolen textures and UI graphics. Screenshots do that well enough as it is (from their own web-page, no less).

OK, I know almost nothing about Alganon except that a friend of mine who was in the beta thinks I should check it out. But just glancing over this article, after 2009, I have to say two things:

1) Nobody ever says "this game is not dying" unless the game is dying. If the game isn't dying, why bring it up? And ...

2) Anytime anybody says, "this game is not dying and we're looking to the future," it means that it has a lifespan comfortably measurable in weeks.

Gah, curse Chevy for making a blatant Ford ripoff. 4 wheels, they both have doors and windshields. And OMG they both have a ROUND steering wheel!

Can't believe the effort people put into complaining about something they aren't being forced to play. Every game out there is made for a niche, even WoW is niche "game". Get over it and let people enjoy making and playing whatever they want.

The problem is that Alganon didn't get inspired by WoW or other MMO's, it flat-out stole art assets directly from the WoW game files aswell as a game design which pretty much mirrors "that other game", right down to exactly the same game mechanics (and i mean EXACTLY - rage/anger, talent trees including individual talents) and just gave them a different name. It's a blatant and direct copy rather than just being inspired. Aion for example is inspired by WoW and other MMO's, and adds a few new features into the mix. The developers created all assets from scratch aswell as the game rules and mechanics. QO literally did a ctrl-c and ctrl-v with WoW to Alganon.

While i see your point about the complaining, if people don't complain about this kind of behaviour more and more games like this will keep popping up because the managers will think it's okay to do, as people will buy it regardless.

So they directly stole art assets? Can someone please show me a screenshot from the two that use a direct copy of art cause so far noone can.

Well, if the makers of this game "literally" copied assets from game files, I hope they'll be sued into oblivion. Much more likely, though, is that #17 doesn't have the faintest idea what he is talking about.

I agree, though, that there's no need for yet another WoW clone: the original is soul-suckingly boring enough as it is.
