somtimes i read these little pieces on massively and i wonder what this game is that i have never heard of, and there are a few games around that are like this, and i read a little bit of interesting news and think to myself "it would be great if this site held somekind of home page for each mmo listing a basic premise of the game e.g style, release date, monthly fee, ect ect"

although i know its not a blog or a feature of a blog per se but it would really increase the usefullness of this site for me!

(even though its the 2nd blog site i choose to read each day when i log!)

I agree, although my suggestion is something like this - a simple table (although obviously it would be quite big), with all the mmog names down one side, and columns labelled, for example, Subscription Model; Territory; Free Trial Y/N; Cash Shop Y/N; Downloadable Client Size (Gb); Payment Methods Accepted... All the useful, at-a-glance info you'd need in one big-ass table.

Some people have a weird aversion to F2P games - with this table, they could quickly determine if they wanted to try it or not. Personaly, I'm always interested in how much downloading I have to do to try a game (Fallen Earth trial - 500mb installer, 7Gb data subsequently - wow!), and so on and so forth.

I have something like it in Excel where I keep track of all the mmogs I play, but obviously this just tells me a) monthly sub fee, b) Y/N if I'm subbed currently, and c) if yes, when does it expire.

Its not first-person its third. I tried the beta and I was less than impressed. Steep learning curve, lame UI and not a lot of action. Graphics are nothing special and it smacks of non-English speaking game badly translated.

Face of Mankind has been around for about 5 or 6 years. From memory this is its third 'launch'. It is a first person if you use your scroll wheel to 'zoom' in, but out of combat its better to zoom out to third person. Graphics are indeed 'older' seeing as though the engine was built all those years ago.

The problem with the game is that i has no reason to be played. By that I mean that all the 'missions' are player created and revolve around either PvP or crafting. Thats it. You make stuff (gunns, ammo, armour, food.....then use it all up fighting and dying, rinse and repeat. Its the same bunch of 'planets' (read maps) over and over again.

I enjoyed it both now and wayyyy back in the original Beta, but it gets boring fast.

Not to advertise someone else's site on here, but try mmorpg.com. It has the list your looking for.

This is a sandbox style MMO with a fps-*style* (yes, you can switch camera mode between first- and third-person) combat system. There are (currently) *NO* NPCs - if you see movement, it's another player. When I first logged in, I was a bit surprised to find a group of police officers literally on patrol.

If you want themepark play, this is definitely *NOT* the game for you - no kill ten rats here. But if you enjoy politics, crafting, selling, sociallizing, combat, *consequence for player actions* - this might be the game for you.

I've been playing since Open Beta and have enjoyed it so far.
