Woo! Exciting stuff? 14 pages in 9 days? AMAZING. Dedicated fans of dreck trying to win more dreck with dreck.

This game needs to die - I am tired of seeing it every single goddamn day.

Don't look then - why bother reading the article and making a comment?

Quite a mix of submissions (theme and quality), the winning pictures look nice.

Personally, I'm tired of whining posts from folks who don't actually play the game. If you're not interested, don't read.

Not as tired as we are of reading posts like yours that needlessly bash the game for damn reason whatsoever.

But we are interested. Interested in watching this company and game fail. Especially in regards to a contest.

Wow, unbelievable how far some people take a vendetta. Just waiting for JP and CCon99 to show up to make it a complete article.

Actually, keep it up. It's now starting to become funny since I see it in the proper perspective(see above).

You confuse bawwing with heckling. But hey, call me a crybaby. Whatever you have to do to justify spending money on a shitty game.

I'm the psycho and yet youre the one who has to hop on his high horse and mock people who criticize your favorite gaming developer, Cryptic. So go ahead and respond with some flippant retort. I'll be expecting it, because people like you just can't help but dance whenever someone expresses an opinion.

Are you still talking about that contest? Here is your post from May 2009:

http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=19751

I don't assume its the only reason you dislike CO, but most players could care less about contests. If you look at any MMO's player population, the number of contest entries are always minimal in comparison. Dooming a 200+ person studio over a "failed contest" seems rather harsh.

On a side note, it would be neat to see massively research an article about the history, successes, and failures of MMO based contests.

It's not about the contest, really. It's about the character of the company. If they wanted a banal name like Sakura Park for a Japanese-themed park with cherry blossoms, they could have wiki'd Japanese Cherry Blossoms and found it. I shouldn't have won, but I'm sure there were others with really good ideas that should have. Cryptic should have done something to rectify it but they didn't.

Like you say, it's not the only thing I don't like about them, it's just the first. Other things include their tight-fistedness with their Open Beta, their concentration on their RMT store at the expense of their end-game content, their rush-out-the-door attitude towards game development which is related to their assembly-line mentality in relation to their game engine, all of these things and several others which don't come readily to mind make me want to see CO and any Cryptic game fail.

It's not about hating Cryptic, though. There was a Massively article a few months back about how RMTs in Sub-Based games were the wave of the future in MMOs and there was no stopping it. If Champions fails, if Star Trek Online fails, I imagine that Sub based games with RMTs will not be the wave of the future the article referred to.
