Uninspired and boring event IMO. It is a slightly modified copy of the old CoH winter event of old where you open a present and you either get a pretty crappy drop or some critters spawn to kill you. Some drops are a piece of a toy. Complete a toy and you get a perk, complete 5 toys and you get part of the perk. If you want to save yourself some time just buy the parts in the auction house. Annoying is when some toys spawn to attack the knock off your travel power slowing down how fast you can move from present to present. Then you have to kill 1000 toys which is best done fighting the giant bear who spawns lots of them. Plan on having a multi-target damager as they don't last long from other players nuking them to get their 1000 The bear lasts all of three minutes on most servers and rotates from one server to the next. Join channel Clarence to get the order. Kill him once and it unlocks a couple hats. After that you have to keep killing him and hope he drops one of the four prizes for you. I killed him over 50 times with about 20 times in the top 5 of damagers plus a half dozen at the top. Never got one of those four items and actually got all cookies which are worthless so plan on several hours of jumping from one instance to the next and shooting a bear that isn't really a challenge. Pretty much a copy of the Halloween event. Yawn.

This one definitely edges out the Halloween event in terms of accessibility. Your damage to Clarence scales, so as long as you have access to a travel power in order to reach him, you're able to contribute.

Chances are all you'll get for your trouble is a healing cookie, though. The real rewards (the steampunk bits, Clarence figure or regular action figure pieces) all require you to be at least in the top 50th percentile of damage-doers to have any real chance of dropping. If you're not built for raw DPS or haven't unlocked your hard hitting powers yet, you're pretty much boned.

Luckily, if history repeats, the steampunk pieces will be up in the C-store for all of us underpowered goobers by the end of the event.

So, another frustrating, lagtastic clusterf*ck of an open mission that spawns on a timer with a frustrating spawn timer, like Blood Moon,.

You have to grind dozens of mecha bear kills for anything decent, and you have to hope for not just the action figure but the steampunk costume pieces as well? Geez, dozens more kills. That sounds fun.

Yeah, good luck with that, Craptic. Glad I left. Lack of content has resulted in Korean MMO grinding for events at this point.

CO doesn't have long on this Earth, folks.

(a picture paints a thousand words..)

See ya Bill! You should give Mark Jacobs a call - I'll bet the two of you can go shoot a round of golf or something similar to fill in time.
