What's the population like now? I quit when the game was dwindling down to nothing, and this was even before Phoenix Throne closed down.

I hate to say it, but everything in the game now is too little too late.

Let it die so they can work on DAoC 2. That's what I want!

New producer with the same answers as the old ones. Lots of blah blah blah nothing wrong with our game, but hey did you know we launched in Taiwan!!!1!

Sorry WAR until you admit there are mega problems with your "vision" your game is just going to whither away till the EA peeps decide to yank the plug and accept the loss.

Here's how the "letter" for WAR should have went: WAAAGH! Greetings WAR fans, it's been a painful 15 months for us here at WAR. After our premature launch of a dumbed down, unfinished, and boring game it's been a rocky road for sure. 2009 saw lots of lost subscriptions, us merging almost every single server we launched with down to only four remaining, and saw us lose many of our workforce to cost cutting layoffs that came right before the holidays. But fear not, despite all these negatives we still know what you want better then you do and we plan to still ignore all these bad signs and create a game you gamers absolutely have no desire to play!!! We have huge plans for 2010! We have big plans for more nerfs to Destruction classes, while making Order even more powerful!!! We also have more exciting server merges planned for our remaining handful of users in early 2010 as well!!! All of this will be followed by our biggest announcement in the spring with the shutting down of WAR for good!!! From all of us remaining here on the WAR team have a Happy Holiday and a Happy Waaagh Year!!!

PS.

If anyone knows if the GW2 or SWTOR teams are hiring please let them know my schedule will be wide open in a few months!

Love,
-WAR Producer #15

@ Mythic,

You have dropped the ball and screwed up what could have been one of the most celebrated mmorpgs to date. I cannot believe you took such a well known and awesome IP as the warhammer universe and aborted a half way completed game at launch. I cannot fathom your ignorance or inability to comprehend how dire the situation is.

Apparnetly all the mistakes and bloopers you made with dark age of camelot you are redoing with warhammer. When i go to the dark age of camelot website and see their 1 server at full capacity every night, I cannot help but wonder if mythics first (and mind you, ancient) mmorpg will outlive this monstrosity that is WAR.

Even now you continue to shoot yourself in the foot by NOT focusing on whats important, class balance and realm balance. Any tool can go on the official forums and clearly see the people crying out in DESPAIR over mythics inability to listen to their customers.

Has mythic started taking customer service lessons from SOE? AM i missing something???

The game is dieing, servers are being merged one by one, soon there will be nobody left to merge. The writing is on the wall,.EA will pull the plug at some point.

+1 mmorpg added to the list of "biggest letdown" and "most epic fail" of the 21st century.

massively.com is obviously the correct place to address complaints to Mythic.

Pretty much mythic has ruined a perfect game. Over all the game going to come to end. I don't know when but just like dark age of camelot. You only have your hardcore players. There only one way that i am coming back to warhammer is that they aka mythic makes a expansion pack. It near year and 3months and all i see is the same problems and no solutions

I played WAR at launch and i was pretty happy with the state of the game. The largest gripe i had was that every area, even at launch, other than the human/chaos were totally empty past the first 20 minsutes of game area.

I cant believe that during beta no one suggested that hey... maybe if we just dont release the other 2 areas with the game, but start new players there people would have been much more apriciative of the different zones. They should have launched human vs chaos week one. then next month greenskin vs dwarf then the month after the elf one, giving large bonuses for players to play in each area then after 3 months. The servers would be more evenly balanced and it would look like WAR was rolling out MASSIVE content patches every month and pleasing the fans.

I was also shocked that the chat system launched as it did... i mean how on earth no beta testers complained that they wanted a zone wide chat system instead of a very localised area containting the closest people only. It was a very very poor decision and i would think that in iteself turned many many players off the game straight away.

Havig scenarios queueable from anywhere was also a huge mistake, it took away from the fun part of the game like the PQ areas where both sides would have to fight for the objective. If they just took the staggered release stratagey i mentioned above and applied it to scenarios, and took wow's old stratagey for queueing (eg go to a place and stand there... and have it next to a PQ that was contested so the ppl could still pvp) again they could have released the extra areas one month at a time, then they could have released the scenarios one month at a time per area and 3 months into the game when everyone in tier 2 it wouldnt have had such a negative impact on the game.

6 months in all areas and scenarios are released and they could have released a new class, then a month later released the next one.

Do these companies not pay any attention to what people want at all? even if you cut stuff at release if you release it in an orderly fashion it makes the dev look like they are REALLY trying to get the stuff out and MASSIVE content updates coming every month for almost a whole year, i feel would make people think very highley of the developer!

Obvously who hates the game blogs... who loves the game is playing and having fun, so, no time for blogging ^_^

I'm on the part who loves the game and still playing it from the first step of closed beta. The game had REAL improvements on the last patches, game is fairly balanced, remanining servers are all high/ medium populated and yeah, war is really everywhere. Just come back and give a try, stop doomsaying about this game, i never had so fun like this last month, it makes me come back to DAOC times. Obvously, RVR fanatics like me prefer a 3rd faction but nothing is perfect. PvErs didn't enjoyed this game? who cares, WAR is not a game for pvers and mob farmers. People who REALLY LIKE DO PVP / RVR is staying in WAR, because actually, pro and cons still the best pvp action in a mmorpg. No other choices.

Not sure about the high end game but I too am loving it. Never been much of a PvPer before (Avoided it like the plague in fact) but I can't stop playing oRvR. Was on the unlimited (time) trial but I bought a copy last week.
I appreciate the other tiers will not be as full (or balanced?) as T1 but damn, T1 is fun!
