Well, every class for Star Wars: The Old Republic is out for the world to see and discuss, and you know what that means: time to start considering your first class. We find that most people fall into two categories here. They either pick a class archetype they're very familiar with (tank, DPS or support) or go for whichever class appeals to them thematically. You also have those who simply go with something different for the sake of variety.
As for this particular blogger, it's safe to say the Sith Inquisitor is likely to be the first character rolling off the creation line come launch day. Then again, there's always beta to consider as well... hmm, the choices just don't stop, do they?
Well, what say you, good readers?

I'm leaning towards the Inquisitor or Bounty Hunter, but Trooper looks like a lot of fun. And who doesn't want to blow stuff up.

I'm going to play the most overpowered class. Then when it gets nerfed, I'm going to cry on the forums that Bioware is going all SOE on us. Then after I call a certain developers a &%*%& and get my forum access banned, I'm going to QQ on other sites, like Massive, about how Bioware is ruining the game.

My main will be a sith inquisitor. After that I will probably mess around with both a trooper and a jedi knight. I figure i'll eventually stick with the one I like best between those two and play that as my alt.

Definitely a Trooper. They seem like they'd have some sick story associated with them. Badass republic super-commando? Sign me up.

I am really interested in BH, IA, and Si. I am hoping for space combat.

I'm most likely starting off with a bounty hunter and playing with the rest on the side, but it's entirely possible that I'll switch my main if some other class feels better to play. With Warhammer I was totally excited about the Squig Herder and ended up being very disappointed with it so this time I'm trying them all out early on to get a feel on which one I'd like to dedicate the most time to.

At first glance I would really have to say I'd like to be a trooper or jedi consular.
But I also have to admit this choice has been becoming a hard one since the release of the sith classes. I mean look at them! one gets to go invisible, one get's to wield lightning like a blaster, and the last looks like a ninja on steroids.
While the jedi have..... well.... a cover system?
I'm going to be honest, but SWTOR is sending the message that jedi are a support group, while sith are a unstoppable uber alliance of badasses. I've always enjoyed doing the right thing and playing the underdog, but by this margin? The class choices themselves are going to cause massive faction imbalances.
After all who would you choose for your class if you had to make the choice?
Infiltrator (invisible) vs. Smuggler (hide behind a tree)
Bounty hunter(jet packs, rockets, blasters oh my!) vs. Trooper(die more ways then you can count)
Jedi consular (be a peace with the force ^.^) vs. Sith inquisitor (forced unleashed "the game")
Jedi knight (probably the jedi's saving grace) vs. Sith warrior (and there goes the jedi's advantage)

The way I see it The Bounty Hunter is the best of the best, the elite so he is better than anyother class but the Jedi right there. So the only thing I'm interesting in killing is Jedi, so I can say I'm better than you and you have the Force on your side you NOOB.
Plus theres gonna be so many Jedi in this game that they make me sick and I'm only interested in getting the Jedi numbers down.

Depends on which faction my guild ends up choosing when we make the decision. Either Sith Warrior or Jedi Knight for starters and I would like to try out Sity Inquisitor or Jedi Consular.
