Hot on the heels of any new information about Guild Wars 2 these days comes the inevitable question: which race will you make first? Since we found out that humans aren't the only playable race, the discussion provides endless fodder for Guild Wars fans.
Will you stick with your tried-and-true and play a human? How about going brain-over-brawn and playing an Asura? Have you been running around in your Charr hat since Halloween this year, dreaming of the day you can go all steampunk and create a Charr character? Perhaps you'll create a Norn, just to see if you have a shot with Jora. Or are you the curious type, anxious to create a Sylvari and learn about this mysterious new race?
Speculating on your first race in Guild Wars 2 seems to be a favorite way for fans to entertain themselves while waiting for launch, so how about you? What race can you just not wait to jump into when launch day arrives?

I'll try all five, beginning with a human and a Sylvari. Let's see what offers the most fun :)

Asura first, Charr second, and Norn third and most likely stay with one of them

I believe it will be either Asura or Sylvari that choose since I prefer the look of those two the most. I find the Humans to be pretty boring (I've already played as one for 4 years), the Norn to be a bit too much like the Humans and the Charr don't look quite as good as the Asura or Sylvri.

My thoughts exactly, the other races seem kinda dull, I loved the Asura in GW, and I like my elfy people too so the Sylvari kinda appealed to me.

Human, and then Norn or Asura. I still think of the Charr as the enemies... and the Sylvari just don't fit for me.

Definitely Charr first then Human, probably Ascalonian or Krytan. I want a character like Pyre and one reminiscent of Justiciar Hablion.

All of them! I'll probably make my main Human, Sylvari, or Asuran though....Or perhaps Charr...I'll definitely play them all though.

Human and Charr (at same time) will probably be the only ones I make. I'm an old schooler and those are just the races i have known the longest and have the most affinity for.

I'll play the Norn first. I'm hoping that shape-shifting will make an interesting dynamic. Then it'll probably be either the Sylvari or the Charr Sylvari if they have a martial profession (I don't care much for magic) because like everyone else I'm interested in the new race. If the Sylvari happens to be all magic then Charr 'cause we all know they'll have swords and axes :)

Charr. Gun-axes! Isengard-ish scenery! A much nastier Tauren-ish body type!
Then Asura and Norn. Snotty little thing with big hulking pet, and shapeshifting giant!
Oh, I guess human will get a look at some point, if only for the Renaissance town/costume factor.
Sylvari give me the creeps. Round face on something not small and cutesy, but elfy instead and the organic plant look is a little too alien.

Charr, because I've been deeply enamored with the idea of shooting elves in the face since the days of Arcanum.
