If this Dev team was smart, they would do their best at creating multiplayer capital ships for launch where you and your friends/guildmates could actually play together instead of playing in constant solo mode. STO won't have this and likely never will since they went with the over instanced approach to space, Jumpgate Evolution doesn't have this in their launch plans, and EVE currently doesn't have it. It would definitely be a feature they could offer that the other companies don't have the creativity to touch.

Yep and they did a pretty darn good job wit it too. Not only does it work, but if a person was to look out the ships windows they would see live player ships moving around the way they are outside the ship. Which is the exact reason why it drives me nuts with these new games in development when I hear them say it won't work right, or that they don't have the technology available to do this, or that they can't figure a way to make it fun. SWG found a way to do it 5 years ago and SOE isn't really that good of a developer.

It really drives me nuts in STO's case because back in the CoX days, Cryptic was a pretty innovative dev team with a lot of fresh ideas. Today they just create MMO's that are bare bones and developed in the quickest time possible, hoping to sell their game engine to other companies that want to shortcut their way into creating MMO's in under 14 months time.

Did anyone else think 'ramming' when they read collision detection?
