i'm really looking forward to this game. i hope they find another way to substitute the current insurance system. it sounds awful.

Why? Is it anything like Eve's system- where if it blows up, it's gone forever and you get a check with a hallmark "get well soon" card?

This is starting to sound interesting... I've always wanted to be part of a 5-10 people "unit". Big guilds just get so dramatic (if that's your thing, then sorry).

For those that don't know, ER's insurance works like this:
At a terminal in a city, you can choose to insure your items (unless that item is illegal in that city or the item is just too rare). Upon death, you keep the item, but a % of the money you spent to insure that item goes to your killer. Items which are un-insured upon your death can be looted.

I like that insurance system! Sounds fun! Although it's also a very improbable one (in real life).

Pretty close to real life actually. Just substitute "a % of the money you spent to insure that item goes to your killer" with "your insurance premium goes up X%" and there you go...real life insurance!
