This game has me so hyped. The more info I see about it, the more I want it. It looks like it is moving along very smoothly, and I hope for a good release sometime next year.

I'm really excited for this game as well. It sounds like a sandbox styled game, grand theft auto gameplay, and the impressive graphics of the unreal 3 engine. But to top it all off, they have the most impressive character creator ever seen in any game, it's like having photoshop built in... except you can design your cars, your characters and decals... that reason alone already got me super excited for APB. Can't wait to see more!

it's in closed beta now.

also, Caxxus, it's not subscription based. Players make all the clothing, so I can't imagine there being much of an MT store. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I'm hoping that all we pay for is the boxes and the expansions in a sorta DDO way.

These video casts get me all hyped up for the game. I hope its not building me up for a disappointment; I can see this game could be epic WIN or epic FAIL. It seems to be tottering on the edge. For example Champions has great customization and looks very slick... but its not a huge success as of yet because it lacks any depth. APB needs to really make the game have some immersion and game play depth. If they do it will be a Huge hit if they don't i can see it being a hollow mmofps that gets old quickly after you shoot your 100th robber.

I disagree. Look at Counterstrike. People are still playing that.

If they made a game with no sub fees and minimal ancillary fees (expansions being a possible exception) then there is already a huge base of gamers that play FPS' now that might be turned on to the idea of one in a persistent world. An MMO that is inexpensive and doesn't require RMTs to get ahead would be very appealing to people who have made games like MW, L4D, Borderlands, TF2 and CS, just to name a few, very popular. That would be a huge fan base to tap into while simultaneously going after the people who are looking for a fun, cheap diversion from their Sub-based MMO that doesn't compel them to play simply because they are paying $15 a month.

Again, this all hinges on what EXACTLY their "non-traditonal payment model" turns out to be.
