I just want to clarify a few things since this is all out there.

None of these images are concept art. None of these images were released by THQ or GW. They are not screenshots or any kind of in game-engine imagery. They are model renders from an artist's portfolio. These images were stolen/leaked and irresponsibly published on a public forum (Kotaku) without any knowledge or consent from THQ/Vigil or Games Workshop. They in no way reflect the MMO stylistically or content wise. Some of the images are personal work of the artist and were not done in connection with THQ or any of their Warhammer 40K licensed properties and should only be considered in the context of an artists personal work and subsequently should not have been published and misrepresented as anything else.

But I'm sure Luke Plunkett and Kotaku couldn't care less about context or the implications for the artist resulting from the publishing of this material.

So long as I can play ANYTHING but a Space Marine, Chaos Space Marine or Ork, I'm in.

It says all factions will be represented, but nothing of which will be playable. I'll cross my fingers to be able to be a Genestealer, but won't be holding my breath. If the bugs don't make it in for players I suppose I'll be ok playing a Fire Warrior.

I think both 'Nids and necrons would be awkvard to play since none of 'em have their own personalities. It would be awesome, sure, but very un-fluffy.

I would realy love to see a Charismatic leader of the Ultramarines gathering the other good space marines chapters, Exodites, and Tau to fight the Chaos. Again pvp in a non faction baset war were every one outside your race is a enemy cant work, IMO. I would realy think the Eldar would be smart enought to join the Emperium mearly to try saveing them selves. And yes makeing it a hibrid RTS and RPG could be perfect.

Quick response to Voinescu Marius - Xenos are Xenos. Eldar or Tau couldn't join the Imperium as the Emperor does not tollerate any alien race. Marines are to kill all Xenos with extreme predjudice.

Onto the Game.

It be a simple Class based game where you choose your career path after a few levels. For example, starting off as a Scout Initiate, and after a few levels advance to a full fledged battle brother and enter a Tactical Squad. Further levels simply advance your level, and if you preferr more close combat then you'll end up as an Assault Marine, or perhaps for long range and enter the Devastator Squads. Eventually having enough gear and level's for Terminator Squads (Either assault cannons etc for long range or Thunder Hammers and Storm Sheild for close combat). Final levels would allow access to Librarian/Rune Priest abilities and Commander abilities like orbital strikes (Along with all the Iron Halo gear etc.).

Imperial Guard can work the same way, but focused on long range abilities (no Ogryns please :P) starting at guardsman and working towards command structures like Commissars and Colonels. While marines focus more on single elite troops, the guard could have access to more tanks and sentinels.

Alien races are easy enough. Orks have a huge variety of troops, Eldar with their aspects. Chaos similar to Marnies but with a few Daemon summoning abilities. Tyranid, again lots of variety like Orcs. Tau would be interesting with advancement towards XV-8's etc.

Gameplay is a tough one though. Do you go down the traditional route of running around taking on single mobs or small mobs (like LoTRO, WoW, WAR etc.) or perhaps try and achieve more of the 40k feel by having various size battles from small skirmishes to full blown enemy hordes charging at you. The first method allows for traditional MMO play style. The second allows for more of the FPS feel. Either way could work depending on the level of involvement and and having lots of buttons on your bars to give you playstyle variety (although as i mentioned, the could be a lot of variety in the classes alone).

Just my quick take on the matter.

I don't know if this has been said ,but I belive that they should take a Fallout 3 and CoD MW2 approch as far as lvling and gameplay you know kinda unlocking weapons at higher lvls. And doing pvp lvling like a FpS such as CoDMW2 (Prestige mode) and a pve lvling like fallout 3. Just an Idea
