Whatever the haters try to tell you, I can tell you from first hand experience that this game is very good. If you have ever seriously had some fun with a crap bunny hopping mindless corridor shooter, then you'll feel lost and confused in Fallen Earth and won't 'get it'.

And the crafting... Its quite simply the best crafting system in the genre. That is all.

I wish the NPC enemies weren't bloody cheaters. When I aim at them, if my targeting reticule is half a pixel off, I end up doing a "glance" shot or just hitting the sand. But whenever they swing or shoot at me, as long as I'm in the same postal code they always do full damage, every time.

But then I'm a crafter, not a fighter, and FE is okay with letting me do that, which is why I'm still playing it.

I tried this in beta and was put off by the animations and sloppy mechanics. I recently decided to give it a go again (50% off on steam) and the game has improved. The character animations are still somewhat shoddy (crazy legs!!). I wouldn't go as far to say they did a good job on the FPS side of things. Like others say, the aiming can be sketchy at best and overall the combat, while different then your avg MMO, is still not smooth.

The game has a ton of depth however and if you are looking for something to play as a change of pace, this could be a decent contender for a bit. The game should find a nice niche, but don't expect it to be "the next big thing".

Seriously guys, ...

The staff writers at Massively like FE. So I just uninstalled the game today and it costed me 39 dollars and one subscription month (too late to cancel).

Here's why: it is ... a MESS.

NPC's standing IN a wooden rack, cut in half. Running (?) in a city was not a lag fest, it was plain horror. No fluid animations whatsoever. The moment we were helping each other on the chat channel and somebody mentioned ANYTHING negative about the game, the chat channel was blocked.

The synchronisation of all actions is gone.

If THIS game would be launched on a console, I think they would be the laughing stock in town, But ... apparently .... it is allowed in the mmorpg genre.

This game is not even in early Beta quality stage at the moment.

And then .... they wonder why one game has all the subs and these kind of "games" (let's call them experiences) die after launch.

I think the ones "enjoying" this are either nuts or WANT to find a game somewhere deep inside.

But frankly it freightens me "staff writers of masssively" belong to the group above.

It shows they lost all contact with reality of making great games...

Back to basics guys : .... how to animate avatars is the first lesson they should learn in those studios.
Apparently even this was done the amateur way.

Sorry boys, but those with an open and critical mind are just too spoiled to accept this at a frightning ... 15 dollars a month.

Nothing short of a scam really.
