For those who don't play the game LoTRO has particularly meh housing.

Unlike the wonderful system in EQII and other games LoTRO gives you a hook based system where you can place something like 10 items in your small house in a limited and fixed position.

The only placement option you have is rotation. No resize and no free XYZ positioning.

As for rent, unlike EQII, the housing is not instanced but neighbourhooded. If you don't pay your house is locked until you pay a ransom which can be up to 90% of the purchase price to unlock, as a result vast swathes of neighbourhoods have foreclosed housing.

It is really nothing more than an addition bag in a glorified bankvault.

Calls in the forums from many players and roleplayer who see housing as important look to have been ignored.
