Sony Online Entertainment has a Star Wars Galaxies package available for purchase now that offers some pretty compelling incentives. Of course you get the game and all three expansions: Jump to Lightspeed, Rage of the Wookiees, and The Trials of Obi-Wan, but the in-game bonus items are what really make it worth the purchase of the Premium Adventure Pack.
Each account includes a free AT-RT to give to one of your characters. Even better, you will also get the sleek Queen Amidala transport ship. That one is one per character, so no need to choose -- even the alts can enjoy some new toys. We saved the coolest for last, though: you may well be parking the transport ship for a while in favor of the General Grevious wheel bike. That one is also one per character, and even better, it's a two seater with room for a friend.
SOE put together a fun little video of the wheel bike in action, so take a look. More information on the Premium Adventure Pack can be found here.

Rubi, you should work on your article headlines. That headline is too marketing driven... sounds like it's off a press release. Now, it might well not be, but it SOUNDS like it. Don't hive these bastards an inch. Report the news like a real journalist -- and that extends to headlines.

Just because you're bitter about SWG doesn't mean the article can't speak positively of SWG. The game really isn't that bad now. It only seems bad because a lot of you people can't let the past die. The game has spent 80% of it lifespan under the NGE, obviously it hasn't died yet, and obviously all the bitching about the NGE hasn't changed anything either.

You've obviously missed the point of what I said. Let me try and be clearer: It's about QUALITY journalism. The actual topic is irrelevant. It's a comment on the style of headline used. Go back and read what I said. I can't believe I'm actually having to spell this out.

So what would make this better to you? If they acted like everyone else and said "SWG sucks, but they have a wheel vehicle if you buy it on Steam, though why would you want to because LOLNGE."? Some people still love SWG, and news sites do need to be unbiased about games. If this site was nothing but "lol this game sucks and that game rocks", it'd be boring.

Again, you've missed the point of what I said. Where have I even identified myself as a SWG player, let alone having an opinion one way or the other on it? You're quite a weird dude. You're assuming an awful lot about a topic I'm not even talking about.

Okay then, how would you have worded this article and its title? Just curious.

Just let it slide bro, it's not worth the energy to reason with the fanboys. Discussing journalistic excellence with them is just pearls before the swine

I would suggest potential players to try SWG via the free trial before investing in the game, but for those who want to take the $9.99 gamble, they face a minimal loss. The game has currently closed half the servers and more than half the remaining servers are bleeding subs. The new 'shiny' in-game vehicle and the $9.99 price tag may attract some players, but it is going to take a lot more to actually retain them. This promotion seems to be more of a disguised RMT special for the current playerbase.

Or spend 15 minutes browsing the official forums. Whenever I get tempted to give SWG another go I just go visit the forums. The game's community has a very Romper Room feel to it and I immediately stop any considerations I had of returning.

I love the constant myopic comments that every SWG article gets.
If all the crybabies have actually taken the time to set up the game right, get their gear up to standard, then they would see that it is a fun game. Most people can't get over the pre-cu, and move on with their lives.
I played pre-cu non-stop
Left for WoW
Came back during the CU(it was fun like a new game)
Left when the NGE came out
Came back again(again it was like learning a new game)
It's still the best sandbox MMO out there. The PvP is fun. If you want canned content go play WoW IMO. But if you want a player driven game then at least give it a shot.
The wheel bike is fun as hell BTW. It was worth 9 dollars. Makes me think about RMT. And honestly, i'm fine with it.

SWG is the MMO I keep coming back to and enjoying more and more. It has the most complex non-combat game out there and space real time fighting in an MMO is very fun and unique. What SOE did with the NGE was insane and terrible, however, the dev team has done a lot to mitigate that damage and I believe they have learned their lesson. Notwithstanding its issues, the graphic engine has kept up very well with the times. In my opinion the character models in this game are still the best of any game out there (including the modern ones). If you don't believe me watch the complex dancing that is possible with an entertainer.
If you are bored or want to give it a try while waiting for TOR to come out, now is the best time. Just role on Starsider or something heavy so you have a lot of people to play with.
