Sony Online Entertainment has a Star Wars Galaxies package available for purchase now that offers some pretty compelling incentives. Of course you get the game and all three expansions: Jump to Lightspeed, Rage of the Wookiees, and The Trials of Obi-Wan, but the in-game bonus items are what really make it worth the purchase of the Premium Adventure Pack.
Each account includes a free AT-RT to give to one of your characters. Even better, you will also get the sleek Queen Amidala transport ship. That one is one per character, so no need to choose -- even the alts can enjoy some new toys. We saved the coolest for last, though: you may well be parking the transport ship for a while in favor of the General Grevious wheel bike. That one is also one per character, and even better, it's a two seater with room for a friend.
SOE put together a fun little video of the wheel bike in action, so take a look. More information on the Premium Adventure Pack can be found here.

Question: Does anyone still play this game?
Because if so, it might be worth it for me to pick up just for that wheel bike...

A few servers are still bustling, like Starsider and a couple European ones. I recommend you try it, it's only $9.99! :)

Don't forget that this thing is through Steam, so any Steam users who were ever curious about SWG can try it, since this pack has a free 30 days and only costs $9.99 through tomorrow(and 19.99 thereafter). Not too bad a deal. I've seen several forum posts from Steamers who tried SWG through this and were surprised that it isn't as bad as they'd heard.

These post keep on bringing back bad memories.
I remember when the expansions came out, they method they had to authorize them was insane. I ended up having to buy three copies of the wookie expansion because I had two accounts so I had to buy two versons of the wookie expansion. I put the wrong number in for the second one (one that linked to the the first account, which I already had the wookie expansion attached to it). Customer service was horrible and I could never get it resolved. I ended up just taking out of hide and the wookie expansion sucked anyway.
To be fair, the space expansion was the best expansion ever, in any game. I just wish they had better customer relations at the time.

I remember lots of people saying "JTLS is make or break for me" because the game was so broken and had no content so it was like a second wind. However it came out and was a huge disappointment to most people I knew and I didn't like it myself so a lot of us quit shortly after. However cause there was nothing better to play the guild started coming back in 2005 with hope for the CU fixing the game and it just made it worse so we all quit again. However AGAIN cause there was still nothing else to play the guild started coming back. They then launched another crap expansion of ToOW and then 2 days later announced the NGE. Everyone thought it was crap and quit the game.
I came back to see what the game was like and everyone I knew has never come back and I spose their characters and mine are all gone now after the merge where SOE are going to charge you $50 per character to get it back.
All the problems of the NGE still existed.
- poor animations
- combat is crap and too fast so it makes the animations look worse
- Frigging ugly UI
- Class customization is so poor aswel like just give me the skill boxes back.
- still lots of things the NGE broke that exist.
- no third axis so it feels very dated
- all the content being added is like a bunker or a cave with the same npc model standing there with a few boxes. Like you play WoWs content and compare it and it makes you laugh.
The game is just a mess and it's a shame all the new ART is via TCG and these offers that you have to PAY for and you can't get them via playing the game.
Never playing an SOE again.
They screwed us over in Everquest, Everquest 2, SWG and PS.

Wait, you thought JtL was disappointing? It was awesome! Like mpdivo above you said, it was one of the best expansions for any MMO period. Despite whatever changes the NGE did, space remained the same. Now what does your random complaints about SWG have to do with this Premium Adventure Pack? Posting just to say "the game has always sucked and I will never play it again" is just trolling, contributing nothing to the post.

I have zero interest in this game but that wheel bike is all kinds of awesome.

The AT-RT and Amidala transport are gifts from the old days, nothing new there. The wheel bike is nifty.
SWG really isn't all that bad, though a few bits - like dated graphics, animations, and GUI - make the game a hard sell for newcomers.
With that said.... $9.99 is a great deal. For the price of a couple Starbucks lattés, you can pick up one of the best sandbox MMOs available.

I'll pass. SWG lost me long ago, so instead I'll just invest that money I'd waste on playing this stinker of a Star Wars MMO and use that investment to later buy a real Star Wars MMO in TOR.

Also, lest anyone get confused, the Royal Naboo Starship is a starport function only vehicle. You summon it on the ground and it lets you go to any other shuttleport/starport in the game and it looks awesome but you cannot fly it in space like the Sorosuub transport.
Wasted opportunity if you ask me.

Can't beat it for 10 bucks
IMHO, you need a joystick for the space portion if you really want to get the most out of it.

Use the $10 for a down payment on ToR.
If you do decide you want to spend the money on SWG to give it a try, BUY THE DISKS NOT THE DOWNLOAD so that you can also play SWGEmu (FOR FREE) and experience what was truly the BEST sandbox MMO ever!

Sorry man, I don't support pirates and illegal servers.

If you buy the BOX you aren't pirating the game. The server is not illegal as long as you pay for the discs, that's the whole point.
Well, that and the fact that SWGEmu/Precu is a better game.

I have bought the pack ... and I'm getting some fun out of it, playing as a imperial pilot. Quite fun.
The ground part feels really dated.

Hmmm, Sort of like the South Park wheel bike in a way. I hope the players have an easier time "mounting" it than Mr Garrison and others did.
