An impending MMO launch changes a many things, one of them being official websites. It's basically common practice to revamp a website leading up to a game's launch at this point. Don't get us wrong, we're not complaining, especially since the new Star Trek Online website is quite snazzy and promises new interactive ways to obsess about the game. It's just, well, it's not very surprising and we're disappointed in ourselves for no longer being able to revel in things like this like we used to.
While the site itself has been changed, there doesn't seem to be any drastic difference to the information or media available. Although we're certain that news, previews and interviews are soon to be pouring out of the main news feed over at Star Trek Online dot com -- yes, we spelled it out.

There is a really cool new tactics movie under videos that is incredible. I would recommended you check it out if you haven't.

The new site looks rather nice. Sadly each time I visit the site now I end up on the front splash page and have to click through to the main site which is rather annoying. Other than that the new layout is a bit better. Top loading the navigation menu is a nice idea, but there are some rather amusing glitches that are popping up, at least with Firefox.
It is also a bit of a shame that they did not take this opportunity to also reveal more of the "Ship of the Line" profiles. If only one new Ship were to be profiled a week starting today it would take them (at least) till the end of June, 4 months post-launch.

Still on the fence about STO. The die-hard star wars nut inside me wants to stay far away, and I'm never too impressed by Cryptic games (kind of simple and dumbed down), but I'm still somewhat interested for some reason.

I've just watched the new videos on their new website - I was a bit anxious about where this was going before but after seeing the videos I am now EXTREMELY excited about the game.
