Well, I have to say the guys a pretty straight shooter..

He's right about CoH's always adding despite only doing "large patches" NCsoft is a completely different animal from other companies in the way that they give a TON to the people who play their games for next to nothing at all. Its a refreshing business model that seems to work well for them.

I may not be a fan of their games, I just don't like how many of them play, but I applaud the work they do. The games are always beautiful and usually run pretty well while being predominately free from being a money trap.

Seen the graphical update for Going Rogue? Haters and naysayers can suck it.

As a former subscriber to CoX for 5yrs I can honestly say that unless CoX gets a serious overhaul to the game dynamic via GR it won't be seeing me back. Unfortunately the current dynamic reached it's potential two years ago and released updates have been mere window dressing to keep the subscribers occupied.

From the Non-seamless world, to the Nth iteration of static mission maps, once a player has reached 30, they can have experienced 99% of the full offering. The full lack of parity between equal level hero/villians in PvP contact also belies a failed understanding of the genre implementation into an MMO itself.

Upon initial release the game was truly unique, but since that time the failure to plan for transformation into a living, ever-changing game has put it on the list of niche MMOs. Sure you can be a hero/villian, but just like in a comic book, your universe is bounded into a series stories which can only have a limited outcome.

I had hoped that the Mission Architect would have allowed true player building of not only missions, but mission maps, giving a far greater variety and possibility to the game. I had hoped that the power/ability schema would have advanced beyond very limited tokens in slots, to allow true customization in ability.

Sadly, I believe that GR will simply be another window dressing rather than a transformative alteration of CoX.
