Why don't they just release on Steam and Direct2drive here in the US and start small like CCP did? If it is a good stable game word will spread then they can invest in themselves. Sometimes starting small and building from there might be smarter. I think it is time for studios to go back to the garage much like bands should escape the record labels. We have the internet. Once your product is large enough then invest in growth by splitting your profits. Half goes into savings for rainy days and a portion goes into growth. Wanting it all can be a huge mistake. Debt sucks. Publishers suck. Record labels suck. The mafia sucks. Plant a field and water it - the plants will grow.
