When I see screen shots of "New" features blatantly copied from other mmo's like wow (and I mean blatant, groups, ui and all) it doesn't make me want to play them, just reminds me why I play wow.

I understand what you are saying, but I think you have to look back to who did some of the stuff you mentioned first...

fact is, achievements can be a very fun addition to a game, if you really want to go all out and on a bitchfest about copying refer to Alganon.

He's not saying WoW was the first to come up with the achievement system, no need to swear at him. Seems the art of discussion is somewhat lost for you, if you call someone a fanboy after one comment.

Honestly, I do like how the groupings / general UI of the window is almost exactly the same as WoW's - but that's how MMOs work - a successful design is imitated by competitors.

still, I got a lol out of the picture.

Real simple.

1) This addition is not original
2) It wasn't original in the game this was almost certainly copied off, either
3) Achievements are fun and everyone should have them, so who cares?

Me, I'd like to see someone copy the collections from EQ2!

It's simple really. While WoW did copy systems from other games, they did managed to bring them together and improve on them in a number of ways to make them very successful.

Older MMO's tried to make a wheel, it came out like an octagon. WoW took that wheel and refined it.

Why not use these systems in other games? If WoW can get away with copying the original, why can't other games use a version of WoW's system?

Who cares if "Game-X had this first", or "Game-Y had this first"; if we enjoy our games, what difference does it make where things come from?
