Because what EVE needs is -more- gaming outside of the actual client?

Ugh.

The future lies in platform connectivity - and google wave, for those who have been following it (and who can look past its current issues) is a testimony to that. EVE's always relied in external tools, from humble spreadsheets to the current API powered applications; hence, it's no mistery or surprise to see CCP steer things this way. Still, I'm amazed at how fast they're accomplishing such feats.

I like the fact that CCP is going to do this. The more I can play the market outside of the game or interact with my Corp the longer I can play the market at all times or communicate. I feel that a Sci Fi game should bring us into the virtual scape by using all the communication tools that are available. If CCP does not do it then someone else will. I can't actually see anyone like Blizzard doing this until someone else does it first. I hope Turbine follows suite.

Besides it all ties into Dust 514, Incarna, planetary control, and future content. I like it! It will bring us all closer together in New Eden. Come aboard!

and they said they put the skill training queue because they were afraid they will make people not log in.

Yeah, EVE has always drawn heavily upon external tools...SQL hacks and spies, mostly. What a laughable pile of garbage that game is. I don't know how it survives..games with that few users typically shut down fairly quick.
